Sound more like she should have gone to psychiatrist with doll when young, so to be asked 'where did he touch you???' and get treatment!!

Edit- supported by WaPo article of hers!!

I’m a survivor of rape and sexual abuse. My sons know this like they know I was once a reporter and I love curries and coffee. But they have never been sexually abused, and they can’t fathom what it’s like to stand in a scalding hot shower trying to burn away the touch of a stranger’s hands.
    Looks like she has issues!

That is not at all the case. I don't want open borders anywhere. I think a small to moderate rate of immigration is probably the best idea. Ideally that immigration should be predominantly from culturally-similar countries, because there are cultural issues with regard to assimilation. My country currently has the highest immigration rate in the OECD, over double that of the US and I think that rate is too high.

Here it's the conservative right-wing party that insists on high immigration! It's not the progressives!

The major parties here are National (conservative right-wing, current government), Labour (centrist, liberal-ish), NZ First (centrist, conservative), Green (left-wing, liberal). The other parties are tiny (<1% of vote each).

The right-wing conservative party is the only one of those four that's in favor of really high immigration. They love it because it serves their primary goal of helping rich people get richer which is what basically all their policies are about - by having very very high immigration it pushes house prices up massively (and thus multi-house-owning rich people get richer, at the expense of young/poor people who were looking to buy a house in future) and they also add a huge number of low-skill people to the workforce which keep wages low (!) and keeps rich business owners happy because they can employ lots of people at low wages and don't have to compete on wages (!) to attract employees.

NZ First (center, conservative) is a little alt-right Trump-ish and strongly opposes immigration. Labour (center, liberal-ish) has come out strongly against high immigration this year and it is a major policy plank for them in this year's upcoming election.

The Green party (left-wing, liberal), who I usually vote for, is very divided on their immigration policy and currently is reviewing it and at this time has no official position. Though it's leader has publicly critiqued the current right-wing government for letting immigration be too high, and it has an official agreement with the Labour party to govern together if they together win the election.

In short, the only major party here that is supporting, and responsible for, us having the highest immigration rate in the OECD is a right-wing conservative party. So, no, I don't "thank fellow Kiwi progs!" for our sky-high immigration rate. I blame people like Raphael who were stupid enough to vote for the current government. Raphael's justification seems to be "something something economics" as far as I can tell, though I would rate that party's economic policies as easily the worst of the major parties.

Nice try, but you managed to admit progs were for high immigration before!!! Then you managed to convince '''''conservatives''''' to be more prog, to be on right side of history!!!! And now they aren't budging, because 'conserving'

Immigration rates weren't even half as high in the past. High immigration is new under the right-wing conservative government that has been in power here for 8 years now.

It is conservative right-wingers who have deliberately decided to have high immigration rates and high foreign investment rates. It makes the already-rich richer which is their goal.

No. The right-wing conservatives in power have chosen to have very high immigration rates. The reaction to that by most of the country including liberals and centrists and the left has been "immigration is way too high, what are you doing?!"

So basically you are for putting up walls, and only allowing limited legal immigration from western countries into the USA?

                      You sound like a Trumpite.

                            I'm going to call BS.

Why? "Here in NZ, immigrant crime is a not-discussed taboo-topic." It's progs that go 'don't be racist!!!' 'bigot!!!!' and so on on these topics!!!

Also, ''''''right-wing conservatives''''''' are basically progs anywhere else in world, so pretending they are ''''conservative''''' is standard Starlight big hoot.

I've always said its a stupid policy that wouldn't achieve it's objectives. Most illegals fly in on valid visas and then overstay. And a 1000 mile wall can be climbed over or tunneled under. It's just a huge waste of money that doesn't achieve its main goals. I've got zero problem with the US cutting immigration. But building the Great Wall of Texas is just plain stupid.
