Re: Tithing Settlement
Why YES. YES, I HAVE BEEN and CONTINUE to be. (Note to CP: This is what is called "an answer." Please make note of it.)
I have given a variety of reports to the bishop. But not the ones you're so seemingly obsessed with. And if yes, have you NEVER given reports to the Bishop?
(I think that counts as another of those "answer" things.)
ANSWER: It's NOT in ANY disagreement with my church's explanation, as I trust you have figured out by now, thanks to my ANSWERS.And why is this in such disagreement with your Church's explanation of the job of Ward Clerk?
And by the way--and this is not an answer per se but rather some trivia: Your "Why" followed by a premise that is fallacious because it was not shown to be correct, is of the "Why do you continue to abuse your wife?" variety of logical fallacy)"I think we may accept it as a rule that whenever a person's
religious conversation dwells chiefly, or even frequently,
on the faults of other people's religions, she/he is in a bad condition."
-C.S. Lewis (Collected Letters Vol. 3 p. 209).

Wow... that sounds more like a drag queen than a drama queen.

You must be in "DRAMA" mode tonight, Jeff. I'm well aware that you have been and are a ward clerk, but that question was not asked in post # 80. Lemme know when you get to that one.(Note to CP: This is what is called "an answer." Please make note of it.)

Re: Tithing Settlement
I guess I will have to defer to your superior experience base in that dept.
Did the excessive "glares" in my posts tell you that? Wait, YOU are the one who does that, aren't you?You must be in "DRAMA" mode tonight, Jeff.
Any chance that you might become well aware that post 80 was part of your "What's the answer? What's the answer?" barrage of re-asking the same question that I just answered?I'm well aware that you have been and are a ward clerk, but that question was not asked in post # 80. Lemme know when you get to that one.
Ever see a kid keep bugging his parents for something? "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? How about now? Can I have some candy? When do I get candy? I want candy!""I think we may accept it as a rule that whenever a person's
religious conversation dwells chiefly, or even frequently,
on the faults of other people's religions, she/he is in a bad condition."

There's plenty I can criticize Mormonism for. But Mormons do put their money where their mouth is, in a way that shames Christians. If we really believed there were treasures in heaven, we wouldn't hold so tightly to the ones on earth.

Re: Tithing Settlement
That has the potential to be a valid point, albeit from the POV of someone who is prejudiced against the church in question. (The potential would become reality if you had a better understanding of the uses to which tithing donations are and are not used. See end of post for help understanding what I mean)
It is understandable, for example, that people who are anti-Catholic would feel that the much more vast amounts of money taken in by the Catholic Church are used for evil--even though a neutral observer might see nothing evil in what the money is used for. (E.g., "They spend money on icons, and I personally think that violates the commandment that prohibits making graven images!")
Right up there with the Crystal Cathedral and PTL Club, eh?They are one of the most commercially minded churches in the world.
This is the end of my post: You scored 1 out of three correct. Not very good. You need to learn more about your enemy BEFORE you attack it. It will make you seem smarter, or at least less ignorant. They use the tithes to build hotels, temples, shopping malls etc."I think we may accept it as a rule that whenever a person's
religious conversation dwells chiefly, or even frequently,
on the faults of other people's religions, she/he is in a bad condition."
-C.S. Lewis (Collected Letters Vol. 3 p. 209).
