One demonstration of just how out of touch with reality Trump is, came in this week's interview with the NY Times.
Trump explained that health insurance costs around $12 per year for someone in their 20s:
you’re 21 years old, you start working and you’re paying $12 a year for insurance, and by the time you’re 70, you get a nice plan.
Firstly, he probably meant to say $12 per month rather than $12 per year, since he gave a similar figure a few months ago in another interview:
Insurance is, you’re 20 years old, you just graduated from college, and you start paying $15 a month for the rest of your life and you really need it, you’re still paying the same amount and that’s really insurance.
Secondly, most commenters seem convinced he's simply confused as to the difference between health insurance and life insurance, and is specifying the rates for life insurance which he sees in adverts on TV when he watches Fox and Friends, and he knows so little about healthcare that he thinks that's health insurance. A quick google reveals the average health insurance cost for a 21 year old in the US is $200 to $400 per month depending on the state.
And since Trump seems to take Dunning-Kruger's to a whole new level, he's totally unaware of his own levels of ignorance:
these guys couldn’t believe it, how much I know about it. I know a lot about health care."I hate him passionately", he's "a demonic force" - Tucker Carlson, in private, on Donald Trump
"Every line of serious work that I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism" - George Orwell
"[Capitalism] as it exists today is, in my opinion, the real source of evils. I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy" - Albert Einstein

OK, this is hilarious.... I tried to post the website where he made that promise -- it's " https://barackobama.com/issues/ethics/ " -- get it? issues - ETHICS?
Know what's there? 404 error
Know what's even funnier? Obama has a magnifying glass, and seems to be searching for that comment as well!

Originally posted by Mountain Man View PostTo be fair, I don't think Trump was expecting the Republican Congress to stab him in the back. If they put a bill on his desk that repealed Obamacare then he would sign it on the spot, but kinda it's kinda hard to keep a promise that depends on the cooperation of others when those others refuse to cooperate. After all, a US president isn't a dictator. He's doing as much as he can within his presidential authority even if the liberal media is loath to report his successes, but at some point, Congress is going to have to step up to the plate.“He felt that his whole life was a kind of dream and he sometimes wondered whose it was and whether they were enjoying it.” - Douglas Adams.
