Well, to the fortunate its a nation of takers, I like to think of it as a nation of givers. I know thats your mantra with respect to the less fortunate, that they're just lazy people who want free stuff, but, in my opinion, thats just because you and yours are just selfish unconscionable people.

The Republican congress probably weren't expecting Trump to stab them in the back either. As a matter of fact, neither did his supporters!

One demonstration of just how out of touch with reality Trump is, came in this week's interview with the NY Times.

Trump explained that health insurance costs around $12 per year for someone in their 20s:

you’re 21 years old, you start working and you’re paying $12 a year for insurance, and by the time you’re 70, you get a nice plan.

Firstly, he probably meant to say $12 per month rather than $12 per year, since he gave a similar figure a few months ago in another interview:

Insurance is, you’re 20 years old, you just graduated from college, and you start paying $15 a month for the rest of your life and you really need it, you’re still paying the same amount and that’s really insurance.

Secondly, most commenters seem convinced he's simply confused as to the difference between health insurance and life insurance, and is specifying the rates for life insurance which he sees in adverts on TV when he watches Fox and Friends, and he knows so little about healthcare that he thinks that's health insurance. A quick google reveals the average health insurance cost for a 21 year old in the US is $200 to $400 per month depending on the state.

And since Trump seems to take Dunning-Kruger's to a whole new level, he's totally unaware of his own levels of ignorance:

these guys couldn’t believe it, how much I know about it. I know a lot about health care.

Remember his campaign promises about transparency, and how all legislation will be posted on the internet for five days before being voted on?

OK, this is hilarious.... I tried to post the website where he made that promise -- it's " https://barackobama.com/issues/ethics/ " -- get it? issues - ETHICS?

Know what's even funnier? Obama has a magnifying glass, and seems to be searching for that comment as well!

That's one thing we can always expect from the Democrats, Jim - they stick together no matter how high the poop is piled.

Yep, doing an interview with the NYT is an excellent demonstration of that.

It's amazing how this man attacked the former director of the FBI, the acting director of the FBI, the attorney general, the deputy attorney general, the council investigating his campaign, yet he and his supporters claim it's everybody else that's out of control. gomer2.gif

If they put a bill on his desk that repealed Obamacare then he would sign it on the spot, but kinda it's kinda hard to keep a promise that depends on the cooperation of others when those others refuse to cooperate. After all, a US president isn't a dictator. He's doing as much as he can within his presidential authority even if the liberal media is loath to report his successes, but at some point, Congress is going to have to step up to the plate.
Trump promised to repeal Obamacare over 60 times on the campaign trail, but after the failure to even vote on a replacement bill the White House’s position is that Republicans are “stuck” with Obamacare. As a candidate, president-elect, and president, Trump has repeatedly pointed to the repeal of Obamacare as a top priority. It was right up there with the big beautiful wall that Mexico's going to pay for. In short, it's typical Trump hot air. He doesn't have a clue how to achieve what he promises.

If you were to sum his achievements up in two lines those would be a very good start.
