Re: What Did You Think of the New Batman Movie? (spoilers)
I like "Epic". Not enough films are epic (for good reason_. Some films try for epic and don't quite reach it. I thought the Dark Knight Rises was pretty epic. I just think that Prometheus was at least as epic and deserved more of the props that the Dark Knight Rises received.

I just watched the movie last night (It's 12:30 AM right now where I live). Bane was an awesome villain, other than the fact that Tom Hardy sounded like an SNL Sean Connery at times (and it seems his character was fairly consistent to the comic books). Anne Hathaway's performance as Catwoman was done well (though I have to admit I was originally a tad skeptical).
Yeah, there's not much to add than what's already been said, other than
1) I'm buying this puppy right when it goes straight to DVD to complete my 'set'.
2) Like Seasanctuary, I also wouldn't mind a "Birds of Prey" movie.

Re: What Did You Think of the New Batman Movie? (spoilers)
I didn't know what to expect from Anne Hathaway being completely unfamiliar with her previous work (except Alice in Wonderland I think), but Catwoman is always like a side-character in these movies, so I wasn't too concerned about her portrayal (I thought she looked wonderful in the role though), I was just mainly concerned about the villain working out, and I was happy with Hardy's work. Looks like he'll be a huge property now, and I suppose we can expect him to be in everything from here on out. Every couple years it seems Hollywood recycles its movie stars for the new best thing, and he's it right now. The weird thing about him is that I've apparently seen a bunch of his films before he took this role, and the only one he stood out in for me was Bronson (and I suppose Star Trek Nemesis).
I don't know anything about the Birds of Prey comic book series, but didn't they do a tv show adaption of that a few years back?

From what I understand, Anne Hathaway has starred in mostly Romantic Comedies till this film. Most of the skepticism regarding her playing the role was the fact that she was mostly foreign to the Action Genre. And this is actually the first time I've seen Tom Hardy in a film, so I have to say I'm also impressed with his work (though I still think- at times- he was trying to do a Sean Connery impression)
I saw an episode a loooong time ago, and it seemed okay from what I remember. They also had an episode of Batman: The Brave and the Bold revolving around the Birds of Prey (the musical number they do would not be appropriate for Tweb due to the sheer volume of inappropriate innuendo present in the song's lyrics).I don't know anything about the Birds of Prey comic book series, but didn't they do a tv show adaption of that a few years back?"If tonight is Cher night in TWeb chat, then I must have been wrong and there is a hell afterall"-XMansMommy

Ah. Well that would explain why I don't know her work then.
That's odd seeing as Michelle Pfeiffer wasn't particularly known for her action roles either, and she made a decent Catwoman in Batman Returns (or at least, I thought she was decent in it). Halle Berry was known for a number of action roles... specifically superhero action roles, before taking Catwoman, and that movie sucked. Most of the skepticism regarding her playing the role was the fact that she was mostly foreign to the Action Genre.
Yeah that voice was sort of weird. At times I thought it added a bit of menace by contrasting this evil villain with this articulate Irish or Scottish sounding brogue, and at other times I couldn't help but be pulled out of the film slightly because I thought it was funny sounding. And this is actually the first time I've seen Tom Hardy in a film, so I have to say I'm also impressed with his work (though I still think- at times- he was trying to do a Sean Connery impression)
Yeah, I think I saw an episode or two when it first came out. That I don't really remember much about it probably doesn't say much for it.I saw an episode a loooong time ago, and it seemed okay from what I remember.
The Brave and the Bold, is that a cartoon? They also had an episode of Batman: The Brave and the Bold revolving around the Birds of Prey (the musical number they do would not be appropriate for Tweb due to the sheer volume of inappropriate innuendo present in the song's lyrics).

Yeah, I caught Bronson on Netflix last year sometime, and I thought his character was amazing. Sort of foreshadowing for Bane. A big imposing brute with smarts. I remember watching that film and thinking "how come this actor isn't more well known, he's really good". I didn't put together that it was the same actor until after watching the The Dark Knight Rises.

Yeah, I grew up with sisters and a mother in a single-parent home... I'm familiar with her work...

Just goes to show that you can't judge by appearances... just like when Alice Cooper collaborated with Ke$ha.That's odd seeing as Michelle Pfeiffer wasn't particularly known for her action roles either, and she made a decent Catwoman in Batman Returns (or at least, I thought she was decent in it). Halle Berry was known for a number of action roles... specifically superhero action roles, before taking Catwoman, and that movie sucked.
Yeah, even the Irish/Scottish Brogue sounds odd, since Bane in the comics was raised in Santa Prisca and would have a spanish accent. If they had explained the odd voice via the mask and what happened to him in prison, I could see it... but they didn't really elaborate on it. Course, a guy that massive with a fighting style that combines precision and brutality, he could sound like Donald Duck and cause people to soil themselves.Yeah that voice was sort of weird. At times I thought it added a bit of menace by contrasting this evil villain with this articulate Irish or Scottish sounding brogue, and at other times I couldn't help but be pulled out of the film slightly because I thought it was funny sounding.
I saw one episode and that's about it... didn't see it on TV again.Yeah, I think I saw an episode or two when it first came out. That I don't really remember much about it probably doesn't say much for it.
Yep. I've seen a few episodes of that. Never thought I'd hear the guy who played Jethro Bodine in the Beverly Hillbillies movie voice Batman. The Brave and the Bold, is that a cartoon?"If tonight is Cher night in TWeb chat, then I must have been wrong and there is a hell afterall"-XMansMommy

We all have to suffer for family sometimes.
Say what!? Never heard about that. She's a pop star, isn't she? Seems like a very weird pairing.just like when Alice Cooper collaborated with Ke$ha.
Ah, I never really read DC much back when I read comics. Only thing I knew about Bane was that he broke Batman's back and took him out of commission for awhile. Oh, and that he's Poison Ivy's sidekick in that horrible Schumacher film.Yeah, even the Irish/Scottish Brogue sounds odd, since Bane in the comics was raised in Santa Prisca and would have a spanish accent. True.Course, a guy that massive with a fighting style that combines precision and brutality, he could sound like Donald Duck and cause people to soil themselves.
Yeah I bet that's strange.Yep. I've seen a few episodes of that. Never thought I'd hear the guy who played Jethro Bodine in the Beverly Hillbillies movie voice Batman.

Yeppers... Of course, I wasn't exactly easy to put up with, either.

Indeed. She co-wrote a duet with him on his new album "Welcome 2 My Nightmare."Say what!? Never heard about that. She's a pop star, isn't she? Seems like a very weird pairing.
Yeah, I'm kind of a nerd when it comes to these sorts of things...Ah, I never really read DC much back when I read comics. Yeah, but you get used to it after a while.Yeah I bet that's strange.

And if it's a fantasy movie, expect her to have preternatural accuracy with an English longbow, even though most men aren't strong enough to use one correctly without training from a very young age (not to mention the corresponding physical deformity that Hollywood women aren't allowed to have).
