Re: Debate--Baptism with the Holy Spirit

[QUOTE=foudroyant;3552317]We are talking about this because you made the claim that the Bible was not written by a scholar.[quote]

      Ah yes, I said...

Well, I believe the Bible tells us who it is that wrote the Bible, don't you?

And if you do, perhaps you can show me where it says that the Bible was written by scholars...

You see, my understanding is that scholars do STUDY, but cannot WRITE, the Bible...

And we know that God did not write the Bible, yes?

We know that God CAUSED the Bible to be written, yes?

Calling Paul knowledgable of Judaism and Christianity will not make him a scholar...

It is scholars who study men like Paul and the Epistles he has written...

Scholars are just thinkers with good memories...

Paul is in a whole 'nother league that they can only think they imagine...

Paul was fluent in multiple languages and was tutored under one of the smartest men of that time period. Paul knowledge of the Christian and Jewish faith is profound and that is how a scholar is described as.....

      http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/scholar?s=t
a learned or erudite person, especially one who has profound knowledge of a particular subject.
      yadada...

OK - I have profound [dare I say intimate???] knowledge on the particular subject of my own sins and evils... Does that make me a scholar?

      OK - MY turn now:

      GIMME-a-BREAK!!

      There - Your turn now...

If I had a choice for someone (of course, besides the Lord Jesus) to explain to me about Christianity Paul would be at the top of my list.

      Dear Jabberwocky,
You merely claimed you have a profound knowledge.

      Good -

And 20th century scholars educated in schools of higher education who STUDIED Paul would NOT...

Scholars study the originals, you see, and ARE NOT the originals...

      Paul is an original...

      1. Paul is an original? Of course. Who asserted that he's fake?

      2. Easily demonstrated but then you don't demonstrate.......so an assertion without proof.
One day when you know how to PROPERLY debate an issue let me know but until then you can have fun playing word and proof make believe by yourself.
