Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotional’s, 2017: Anticipating and Experiencing Jehovah-Jireh...
    I’m writing on faith again!
    Shalom!

I find myself writing about some subjects I keep “coming home to” this morning it is faith. The reason I keep circling back to it is out of my own need to not only bolster it but also to ensure it is anchored deep in the Heart of God. So please bear with me.

“Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises. And because of Abraham’s faith, God counted him as righteous. And when God counted him as righteous, it wasn’t just for Abraham’s benefit. It was recorded for our benefit, too, assuring us that God will also count us as righteous if we believe in him, the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.” (Romans 4:20–24, NLT)

When I think of all the up’s and down’s I’ve experienced over the course of my life one thing becomes apparent somehow all those experiences circle around and come back to faith. Not faith as a belief or a trust level in God but faith as a relationship with God. In this morning’s scripture Paul writes about faith starting with God, then believing in God’s promise then coming full circle back to God at a deeper and stronger level than before. Faith is born out of a relationship with God, a relationship in its infancy stages based on taking a chance on God. It’s like this: after everything has been tested, tried, and failed leaving only God left believe and trust God then step out in faith.

Where some often go wrong is by understanding God’s promise as a fix for our troubles. And when God doesn’t fix our troubles we begin wondering why God allows bad things happen to good people. Jesus answers that probing question in chapter 9 of John’s gospel. “It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered. “This happened so the power of God could be seen in him.” (John 9:3, NLT)

Jesus put the “why question” to rest then Paul puts the “bad things” to rest. “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” (Romans 8:28, NLT) I don’t know about you but I love lemonade (my favorite is pink lemonade) but when God squeezes the lemons life throws at us no one but no one can make Lemonade like He can!

Life doesn’t get any simpler than this: if you got lemons, you need God, and He is there for the getting!

“May God be merciful and bless us. May his face smile with favor on us.” **
    Grace and PEACE,
    Gary
