  • Mueller impanels grand jury, is granted subpoenas

Report: Mueller convenes grand jury in Russia investigation:

Special Counsel Robert Mueller has impaneled a grand jury in Washington, D.C...

Grand juries give prosecutors the ability to put witnesses under oath if there is evidence of a crime. Mueller and his expanding team will also have the power to seek indictments and subpoena documents. According to the Journal, the grand jury was convened in Washington several weeks ago. Another grand jury in Virginia had been investigating former national security adviser Michael Flynn, but that probe has been taken over by Mueller

Grand jury subpoenas issued in relation to Russian lawyer, Trump Jr. meeting:

Grand jury subpoenas have been issued in connection with the June 2016 meeting between Donald Trump Jr., a Russian lawyer and others

Meanwhile Mueller has added to his team the ex-head of the DoJ's foreign bribery unit. I wonder why that is...?

Perhaps you're unaware that a grand jury can "no bill" somebody just as well as indict? And, typically, it's entirely a prosecutor's venue. It does not mean the subject has been charged with any crimes, and does not guaranty they will be.

IF they no bill, the liberals will REALLY be in a hissy!
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

I'm surprised that you are so interested in a coup to overthrow the duly elected president of the United States. You should be hoping that the people would win instead of Mueller. The assignment of Mueller as special council is an abuse of law and power.

Would you like to have witch hunts in NZ to defy the people of NZ?

Hillary had more votes. Your country's pretense at "democracy" is absurd and your constitution ridiculous.

So you have the Nixonian view that the president is above the law, can't commit crimes, and shouldn't be investigated for them?

Here the police can charge a politician with a crime and they can be sentenced to prison just like a normal person can. If that happens, then the local electorate has a special election to vote in a new representative. Our politicians are in no way above the law. That's why we consistently rank as one of the least corrupt, and most democratic, countries in the world.

Okay. No response is needed. You don't understand the US Constitution nor the coup being taken against the US Constitution. I guess you are hoping that your government will be overthrown too -- if you so enjoy coups. The question at hand is not whether someone is guilty of a tenth of the crimes of the Clintons can be prosecuted but whether the democrats can use illegal means to search for crimes without basis.

Are you so wishful that revolution break out in America to counteract the coup by congress and the US departments?

Everything I see you write on politics in this forum is bananas. You're a crazy person.

Nobody should be investigated merely because of butthurt accusations from election losers, which is what happened in this case.

On the rest of the topic, Mueller was trying to blackmail Manafort into falsely testifying against Trump. I guess it didn't pan out which is why he's now resorting to more desperate measures like trying to force people to talk to him. Most likely they'll just plead the fifth and it'll be another dead end in this scam.

Probably because he's a democrat loyalist and even though the whole thing is a scam they will play pretend for as long as humanly possible. It damages trump and keeps the idiot democratic base from overthrowing the dem establishment over the election catastrophe.

Great. Because you do not understand the form of government in America, you call me crazy. Your logic is impeccable. Consequently, you decide that a coup by congress is desirable. Do you wish also that New Zealand government be overthrown?

If you believed in law and order, you would be against the actions being taken against our President. You are totally incoherent. You have gone against promotion of your preferred party into promotion of illegal witch hunts.

You have simply asked that evil be done in order to bring about your political preference.

If you wish to be level headed. Read the US Constitution and some civics books on the American system.

I understand the government in America well, and I suspect a lot better than you. I call you crazy because all the stuff you say on this subject is absolutely nuts.

                      Your logic is impeccable.
Generally yes. Almost everything you say though on these issues is complete non-sequiturs...

Do you wish also that New Zealand government be overthrown?
...such as this. As it happens I hope that the current government loses in the election next month and that the current opposition becomes the government. It will likely be the first time in NZ history where the Green party has been part of the coalition government, which I'm looking forward to because that's the party I generally support the most. It will also be our 3rd female prime minister.

If you believed in law and order, you would be against the actions being taken against our President.
Dumbass, being investigated and indicted for crimes he obviously committed is law and order.

I'm bored of seeing mikewhitney's gibberish in this forum. At least you, Demi, and MM make actual incorrect points which can be argued with and shown to be wrong. Whereas mikewhitney just spouts nonsense which doesn't even rise to the level of being wrong.

Ok. You are okay with a transition through the voting process but you, in distinction against your desire for America's future, do not advocate a lawless coup in New Zealand.

You should move to a communist system where a person is assumed guilty before there is any crime done. Tell me how much you enjoy that.

                          May God bless you.

The only people having a 'hissy' have been the conservatives all over the internet since Mueller was appointed to lead the investigation.
