    Add Sea to the list.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

This is Trump's talking point but it's wrong. It's also what lead to the ludicrous Seth Rich conspiracy theory that the whole "Russian thing" was engineered by the DNC to undermine Trump....which is unravelling before our very eyes.

There is ample evidence of Russian involvement in helping Trump win the election, as established by the leading Intel Agencies to a high degree of certainty. And there's considerable circumstantial evidence of involvement by Trump supporters and family to warrant the investigation by Mueller. And the fact that Trump is doing everything in his power to derail the investigation adds to the supposition that he has something to hide.

Yup. I don't trust Hillary's campaign or the US intelligence agencies as far as I can throw them. They are lying liars.

However Trump's actions speak for themselves. He appointed a super-Russia-friendly staff, had super-Russia-friendly policies, has been personally super-friendly with Putin, fired the FBI director for looking into his Russia connections, is publicly angry at the attorney general for failing to stop him being investigated for his Russia connections. Everything he's personally done screams 'guilty'.

Indeed! Did you see the transcript of Trump's phone call to the Australian prime minister, Australia being one of the US's closest allies? Finishing off with "As far as I am concerned that is enough Malcolm. I have had it. I have been making these calls all day and this is the most unpleasant call all day. Putin was a pleasant call. This is ridiculous". The master diplomat at work!

Sounds about right, Malcolm was being pain to deal with!

Malcolm was heroic in trying to deal with a hectoring Trump, whose only concern seemed to be how things would make him look. As usual with Trump, it was all about him.

Grand juries work in the prosecution's favor. The prosecutor is allowed to present only the evidence that supports his case, which is to say that any evidence that might exonerate the accused is deliberately excluded. Basically, he tells the grand jury, "Suppose this is all the facts, and there are no counter-arguments. Could I get a conviction?" If the grand jury says yes then they indict.

It's a rather unfair and unjust process.

Nah. Grand juries are useful in that they weed out the cases that have no business going to trial.

That's the intent. Unfortunately, a zealous prosecutor can push a case into the legal system that shouldn't be there.

Yes, but I'm sure that would happen regardless. Grand juries at least weed some of those out.

I just think it would be very helpful for the defense to give a summary of "why this case should not go to trial". It wouldn't even need to be extensive - just a summary.

Since the Grand Jury ONLY hears prosecutorial information, they may feel it's their obligation to vote to indict when, having more information after the grand jury indicts, they may have been reluctant to advance the case.

Well, there you're starting on the slope to being tried twice for the same crime.
