I recommend you do not try too hard and ...research as little as possible. Such weighty things give me a headache. - Shunyadragon, Baha'i apologist

I spent many a day with Darius Gray at the police target range in Salt Lake City firing automatic weapons. I recall Darius having the first .44 auto mag in the state of Utah. He and my dad had to manufacture brass for it.

That is indeed cool. My Desert Eagle bows in obeisance. The Auto Mag was an icon.

The auto mag is like the 57 Chevy of large caliber semis. I was/am a fan of the Desert Eagle but the older I get the smaller my tastes in guns becomes. Even my .45 is too big. My favorite defense/carry gun du jour is my S&W airweight .38 +P. I have even taken it rabbit hunting.

Re: Mormon Church bows to pressure...
Nor have I. Back when I had an FFL, I thought about buying one, but even back then, they were a little too pricey for me. There is also the matter of ammo....
I just got outbid on an NAA .450 Express. It's probably good I didn't win it, because ammo for it is $20 per round due to 99% of it being destroyed when the company decided to quit building the guns. The gun might be worth $1000 because only a few hundred were made, but 51 rounds of ammo for it would cost more than the gun itself."I think we may accept it as a rule that whenever a person's
