Re: What was the First thing God Made?

      From Post #15 . . .a ways back . . .

So He can create matter, but He can't create a rock so heavy He can't lift it! An omnipotent being is inherently contradictory. When it comes to the problem of evil (rather than just lifting rocks), this self-contradictory nature ties theologians into knots. Either this god is not omnipotent, or not benevolent, or non-existent.

But hey, let's not worry about real issues. Let's Make Stuff Up. Since a self-contradicting god has no limits (not even logic), we can let our imaginations roam at will.

Certainly He CAN create a rock so heavy that He couldn't lift it . . . .BUT WHY would He do so? . . . just to appease OUR quandriacal foibles?

Re: What was the First thing God Made?

Well, in the "beginning" God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1.) But I suspect there is NO first creation. Since God the Creator is always. This universe is all we can know. Or ever know of God creating. Except for the new heaven and earth after the judgement.

      Truth originates with God.
      Belief originates with truth.
Reason is based in one's beliefs.

"There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the Self Existent Existence." -- Proverbs 21:30.

"For in him we live, and move, and have our being; . . . " -- The Apostle Paul - Acts 17:28.

". . . the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; . . ." -- Romans 1:16.

". . . the gospel . . . how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: . . . " -- 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. " -- John 3:16.

". . . as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the children of God, even to them that believe on his name: Who were born, not . . . of the will of man, but of God." -- John 1:12, 13.

"Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: . . ." -- 1 John 5:1.

". . . and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. " -- Hebrews 8:12.
