The Journey of a Suspended Moment...
Shalom!
Time waits for no one. The journey through life never stops until your physical life gives way to the eternal. With the very first beat of your heart until its very last beat your life will never stop. Life is like the movement of a river because it twists and turns through the countryside of your life. There are no time outs in the game of life. It does not matter whether your life is filled with happiness or sadness, peace or conflict, love or apathy, joy or hopelessness another day and time will always loom on the horizon.
Time waits for no one, words spoken and felt between a beginning and an end, words that do not speak the whole truth because time waits for the Creator, for his Son, and for the Holy Spirit. Included within the circle of those to whom time waits are those who have accepted Jesus as their Savior, those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life for they walk the journey of eternity.
The prayers of a prophet reach the Throne and God speaks to the prophet of things to come, of things yet to do. A young person with the remainder of his life ahead of him asks for God’s will and God makes his will known. A man dying of cancer bows his head in prayer asking for strength and courage, and the Holy Spirit answers the call. An older couple facing declining health prays for peace in their lives, and the Holy Spirit blesses them with memories. A sinner is suddenly confronted with spiritual death, and Jesus takes him/her to the cross. A person nearly succumbing to evil forces prays for deliverance and a nail scarred hand leads him/her into the Kingdom of God.
There are unseen moments when time becomes meaningless even though the beating of a heart continues, even as life continues to twist and turn. The journey of a suspended moment walks the corridors of eternity where time does not exist. From eternity God reaches into a life and pulls it into timelessness where he ministers to it and then returns it from where it came. A person begins to pray when suddenly their spirit touches eternity and they walk the heavenly realms until the word amen returns them to the present.
The journey of a suspended moment reserved for God to break the time barrier and to touch the lives of those who see the transparency of seconds, hours, days, weeks, and years. The journey of a suspended moment reserved for those lives that are lived in the Heart of God, those whose lives are in sync with the pulse of eternity. The journey of a suspended moment reserved for those tired and weary time travelers who have caught a glimpse of life lived in the Garden of God. The journey of a suspended moment reserved for you, have you walked its hallowed halls hand in hand with Jesus yet?
“May God be merciful and bless us. May his face smile with favor on us.” **
Grace and PEACE,
Gary
