Male - Apostles' CreedThe goat as a symbol of Satanism?
Why is the goat used as a symbol of Satanism? Does this have any relation to the lamb as a symbol for Christ?

probably because:
Matthew 25:32
All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

It comes from Baphomet. It's not Biblical.

Re: The goat as a symbol of Satanism?
Paganism has a long history of using goats in sacrifices. In the Celtic tradition during samhain they sacrifice a goat and let one go called the scapegoat. Of course their its a sacrifice to the spirits of the earth which rendered and allowed the harvest as a sacrifice of thanks and the scapegoat is symbolic of giving up something personal for the next harvest. In satanism there is a lack of the scapegoat in fact I was designed as a pure mockery of catholicism. Closer to the goat head would be more devil or demon worship which in the pagan world is classified as black magic. The white or Greg with has little to do with baphomet but the black witch concerns themselves with harm and uses the aanger within. To cause harm and is often associated with baphomet or lesser evil gods or demonic forces
