  • DNC hack was an inside job - not Russians

A report by former NSA agents has determined that the DNC leaked information was downloaded from a local DNC computer using a flash drive. It was not a hack.

There was no hack of the Democratic National Committee’s system on July 5 last year—not by the Russians, not by anyone else. Hard science now demonstrates it was a leak—a download executed locally with a memory key or a similarly portable data-storage device. In short, it was an inside job by someone with access to the DNC’s system. This casts serious doubt on the initial “hack,” as alleged, that led to the very consequential publication of a large store of documents on WikiLeaks last summer.

Forensic investigations of documents made public two weeks prior to the July 5 leak by the person or entity known as Guccifer 2.0 show that they were fraudulent: Before Guccifer posted them they were adulterated by cutting and pasting them into a blank template that had Russian as its default language. Guccifer took responsibility on June 15 for an intrusion the DNC reported on June 14 and professed to be a WikiLeaks source—claims essential to the official narrative implicating Russia in what was soon cast as an extensive hacking operation. To put the point simply, forensic science now devastates this narrative.

We've known this for many, many months. Wikileaks and Guccifer repeatedly and consistently said it wasn't the Russians but a source inside the DNC, and the official US intelligence report accusing the Russian government presented evidence that was so thin that it was laughable. Then there was the recent story of the DNC IT guy attempting to flee the country and leaving behind smashed government computer hardware...

So now the question is, since the Russian hack narrative was the catalyst that jump-started the Trump-Russia conspiracy theories, is it time to end Mueller's sham investigation and declare the President innocent?

So, naturally, we'll get an apology from all the liberals where were puking all over themselves about the 17 agencies that all concurred....?

The new story will be: Russians broke into the DNC with Trump's help and stole the information!

It is from a liberal news site. There are other stories from other source too but you would whine that they are biased. I also linked to the actual source.

whether it is correct or not is yet to be seen, but it's a lot more than you and the other liberals have been going on for the last year.

Well, it was never 17 intelligence agencies, it was three, and it wasn't three intelligence agencies so much as it was a handful of handpicked individuals from those intelligence agencies, and they didn't so much do their own investigation as they simply went with the questionable findings of a third-party under the employ of the Democrat party who, to date, is the only firm outside of the DNC itself who has looked at the servers in question. So basically, the "smoking gun" was shooting blanks.

Indeed. Both Slate and Salon, neither of which could be considered even slightly conservative, have both wondered why this is being ignored by the major newspapers and network news channels.

Well, we'll see. The NSA is directly subject to the authority, direction, and control of the President and the current director Dan Coats was appointed personally by Trump. And, of course, it's in Trump's interest to divert the narrative away from the Russians.

OTOH the former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said recently that there’s no evidence anyone other than the Russians meddled in the 2016 presidential election, countering claims of President Trump. “It was only the Russians,” Clapper told MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell. “And they did so very aggressively and effectively.” This continues to be the position of the three leading US Intelligence Agencies...despite Trump's best efforts.

                              Give me a break.

Look, if Russia wasn't the source, Julian Assange would have simply produced the proof long ago. He hates the DNC for trying to prosecute him for his attacks on the US, and would love nothing more than to bring them down. But he hasn't done that despite months of insistence because he knows Russia was behind all the cyberattacks; not just the DNC emails, but the hacking of the registration lists too. And do you think Dan Coats and Mike Rogers (two hard core Republicans that have gone to bat for Trump) would negate Trump publicly like they have if they didn't have solid reasons to agree that Russia was behind last years attacks? Sorry, Sparko, you're just flat wrong, and I think you know it.

I think the denial from you guys stems from the fact that once you accept that Russia was behind last years election interference, Trumps peculiar relationship with Russia and Putin becomes more than coincidence.
