Glory Seed Devotional’s, 2017: Anticipating and Experiencing Jehovah-Jireh...
God knows what you need…
Shalom!
“He does great things too marvelous to understand. He performs countless miracles.” (Job 9:10, NLT)
Today is the first day of the rest of your life! (You knew that didn’t you?) And it comes with new obstacles to overcome, new difficulties that have the ability to drain away your spiritual strength. But that’s not all because yesterday’s troubles may still be lingering.
You are no doubt familiar with the following Scripture. I know I’ve used it in the past and because it is such a powerful gathering of letters and words I will continue to use it. “Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:28–31, NLT)
You may get tired of struggling, I know I do – but God “does not become tired or need to rest!”
You may question why life comes with struggles, I know I do – but “No one can understand how his (God’s) great wisdom is.” And just because we cannot understand we can be confident God knows what he is doing and where he is taking us.
You may get dead tired and want to quit, I know I do – but “people who trust in the Lord will become strong again… They will run and not need rest; they will walk and not become tired.”
You need to write those promises on your heart not only let them shape your life but also for immediate recall when life becomes difficult, I know I do.
“May God be merciful and bless us. May his face smile with favor on us.” **
Grace and PEACE,
Gary
