About the only place left on Earth where lawmakers openly and avidly deny the science of climate change is the U.S. Congress... more to the point, the Conservatives in the US Congress.

Besides, the people who built up the country from the ruins of the Winter and Continuation War were by and large Christian, which Christian values and (Lutheran) work ethic. My generation (both religious and non-religious) have an overwhelmingly religious older generation (our grandparents and their parents) to thank for our high living standards.

But, one wouldn't expect such an enlightened approach in the punitive, still actively Christian society of the USA.Last edited by Tassman; 09-22-2017, 03:10 AM.

Chrawnrus is the only Finn on TWeb, he is Christian, therefore 100% of Finland is Christian.
Also, everything good that ever happened in Finland is because of Christianity. Anything bad that ever happened there, was not due to Christianity.

A much better/newer approximation of Finland's beliefs comes from polls conducted by the European Commission in 2010, which tells us that, of those surveryed, 33% beleived "there is a God", 42% believed "there is some sort of spirit or life force", 22% did not believe "there is any sort of spirit, God or life force", and 3% didn't know.
So yeah, no. Finland isn't an atheistic nation. If we grant that label to any particular nation it'd be France (40%) or the Czech Republic (37%). The Czech Republic makes sense seeing as it's a post-Communist nation, and I'd be surprised if France's numbers haven't turned around as that nation becomes more Muslim.

That, I believe, pretty much confirms Tass's assertion. Good job Adrift.I DENOUNCE DONALD J. TRUMP AND ALL HIS IMMORAL ACTS.
