If he said, "These floods are costing people so, so much, in damage, in jobs, in lives. We need to make sure they don't happen again. We need to make our infrastructure great again. Forget walls with Mexico. We need to make America have the greatest infrastructure in the world. Cities that don't flood. The best highways. The best airports. The fastest trains. FDR gave us the New Deal with great building projects that made this country great. Let's make this country great again. We'll employ hundreds of thousands of people, giving them jobs in building and construction. I know construction! I'm the greatest at construction! And we'll make our country so great that Mexico will wish they could pay for the same thing to happen to them!"

Instead the Republicans are busy trying to cut $1 billion out of the flood budget to give it to their rich donors in tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy.

I agree that anyone criticizing Melania for her shoe choice is silly. Like Fox News was when it flipped out over Obama's tan-suit. Or when the right-wing whined on about Hillary's "pantsuits". The very left-leaning Daily Show mocked the people complaining about Melania's foot-wear.

Antifa is a lot more complex. Are some of the specific things they've done wrong? Most likely, I haven't been following them closely. Is it somewhat sensible for them to cover their faces to prevent identification? Yes - some of the neo-nazis at the Charlottesville rally are regretting being identified and probably wish they'd take a page out of the KKK book and worn a white bedsheet over their head to prevent identification. Are the overall goals and purposes of the Antifa organisation laudable? I would say it's complicated: They're using methods I don't like to fight groups I don't like, and then ends don't seem to justify the means very well and they don't seem to be achieving much other than creating arguments for crazed right-wingers of "well the left does violence too!!!" Are Antifa 'just as bad' as those they are fighting against? No - in no way, shape, or form, are people who are against Nazis / KKK / etc as bad as people are for them, even if they stoop to using the methods of the opposition, and anyone who pretends that anti-Nazis are as bad as Nazis reveals their own moral bankruptcy by that false equivalence.

Secondly, you're making the assumption that Trump actually visited damaged parts of Corpus Christi, which doesn't actually appear to be the case - if you read further below the twitter comment I linked to, the reporter asked Trump's press secretary to clarify Trump's claims that he'd seen the destruction "first hand" since the media apparently knew he hadn't visited the damaged parts of the city, and Trump's press secretary apparently explained "He met with a number of state and local officials who have been eating, sleeping, and breathing the Harvey disaster." Obviously that literally amounts to having second-hand experience of the disaster, not "first-hand" like Trump claimed in his tweet. So it looks like the nasty liberal media were right on this as per usual.
Yeah like he couldn't see the destruction from the air? or during his drive to visit the officials? Or during his visits with the officials? It was everywhere, Starlight. The whole city, as shown by the photos I posted.

On another note, This is one of the fashion reporters that made snobby remarks about Melania's outfit and shoes:

Meet the ‘Vogue’ Writer Who Criticized FLOTUS’s Shoes

An unspeakable Eldritch horror from the depths of aeons and untouched by mortal creatures funneled her disapproval over Melania Trump’s snakeskin stilettos yesterday into an article for Vogue magazine.

A bone-chilling digital howl rippled across the Internet as the powder-faced Gargantua calling itself Lynn Yaeger lurched over to the keyboard to unleash hellfire on the First Lady.

“Oh, Melania,” Lynn Yaeger curdled. “In the words of the late, great Lou Reed, you ‘couldn’t hit it sideways,'” after accusing the White House of failing to “understand optics.”

The brute in a red wig-like cap, black lipstick, and frayed, tattered rags seized on footage of the graceful First Lady as she boarded Air Force One for a visit to flood-ravaged Texas.

“This morning, Mrs. Trump boarded Air Force One wearing a pair of towering pointy-toed snakeskin heels better suited to a shopping afternoon on Madison Avenue or a girls’ luncheon at La Grenouille,” Lynn Yaeger–who hails from a beneath-the-floorboards, cannibalistic tribe of journalists known as Contributing Fashion Editors at Vogue– howled.

In her article Lynn Yaeger remained untethered when told by a spokesperson that Lady Melania had a change of shoes awaiting her on the plane. When Mrs. Trump did de-plane in Texas she was photographed wearing sensible sneakers.

“But what kind of message does a fly-in visit from a First Lady in sky-high stilettos send to those suffering the enormous hardship, the devastation of this natural disaster?” the beast grumbled, leaving many to suspect had she not been turned down at the high school prom by the hideous fish-God Dagon her career might have turned out different.

According to Internet lore, the immortal spent 20 years writing for the now-collapsing weekly The Village Voice before joining Vogue. She is suspected to have the ability to cast spells over other cretins who stalk the pages of fashion magazines, as evidenced in a 2016 New York Times Style Section profile titled “Lynn Yaeger: Fashion Muse.”

“Sing, muse, of crinolines piled in layers, of blunt-cut bobs and Cupid’s bow lips?” the paper wrote to the tune of Pan’s flute.

“Inspirations come in many forms during the fashion collections. It has been a surprise, though not an unwelcome one, to find that this season, an unexpected one joins their ranks: the fabulously eccentric fashion writer Lynn Yaeger.”

I agree, Hillary wore some horrendous housecoats.

Antifa, most likely? Right, you haven't been following them closely, yet you claim to know everything about American politics and comment on every thread. sweep it under the rug Starlight. You don't remember defending these idiots for punching nazis in the face?

And as far as masks go? No they are not hiding from the KKK, they are hiding from the police and the public, so they can be violent without consequences. The only one who does any revenge and doxxing ARE the Antifa, who go around creating campaigns to destroy the career and lives of anyone they deem a "nazi" or a "fascist"

And yeah they ARE as bad as the KKK and Nazis. They go around assaulting people, destroying property, and terrorizing the public, they don't just attack Nazis and KKK, they attack anyone they disagree with, even as I showed in the Boston thread, to knocking down an old lady and dragging her through the street because she was carrying an American flag. She wasn't a Nazi or KKK, just a Trump supporter.

The only one morally bankrupt here is people like you who want to accuse people of being Nazis just because they want to defend the constitution and free speech and love their country.

The left for the most part loves antifa since they do their dirty work although a few are now starting to realize that they have created a monster that is getting out of their control.
