Glory Seed Devotional’s, 2017: Anticipating and Experiencing Jehovah-Jireh...
A Moment for Peace…
Shalom!
Rebecca Van Noord writes about the hope that comes piggyback with Jesus’ Peace, “Jesus’ resurrection presents new hope for the disciples and those who believe in Him. It also shows that He prophesied correctly about God’s saving plan—presenting new hope for us. Jesus has the victory; death has no power over Him. By believing in Him, we share in His death and resurrection, giving us incredible hope as we face life, and death. Not only this, but we live knowing that our Savior is alive and acting on our behalf. We live in a new era.” (Connect the Testaments: A One-Year Daily Devotional with Bible Reading Plan. Bellingham, WA: Lexham Press, emphasis mine)
If you are ever in doubt as to why Jesus is so important to your life then plant these Words in the fertile soil of your soul, “…but WE LIVE knowing that OUR SAVIOR IS ALIVE and ACTING ON OUR BEHALF…” Not only do those 14 words sum up the gospel, they also shed light on Jesus’ promise of abundant life including all the Hope and Peace we need, “…My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” (John 10:10, NLT)
I know I do not have to give you a reason why Hope and Peace are so high on our list things we need in our world and our individual lives each one of us has our own story. Or perhaps your story is even now being written. I know mine is. Quite often when I find myself being overwhelmed by my need to Hope and Peace I find myself “tuning into God’s Word” in song and when doing so it not only tames the chaotic beast in me but also brings out the best of Jesus in me as well. One such song that always does just that is a song by Shannon Wexelberg. Please take about 5 minutes and let it minister to you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsxhQCcEyvI
“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” (John 14:27, NLT)
“May God be merciful and bless us. May his face smile with favor on us.” **
Grace and PEACE,
Gary
