Natural Science 301 Guidelines

This is an open forum area for all members for discussions on all issues of science and origins. This area will and does get volatile at times, but we ask that it be kept to a dull roar, and moderators will intervene to keep the peace if necessary. This means obvious trolling and flaming that becomes a problem will be dealt with, and you might find yourself in the doghouse.

As usual, Tweb rules apply. If you haven't read them now would be a good time.

Do you know how many of the authors are on the editorial team?

I'm always still in trouble again

A quick count shows only 8 papers out of 26 with none of the authors on the editorial team, and 6 of those 8 are from DI fellows Denton, Ewert, and Sewell. They couldn't get more ID incestuous if they tried.

Because of the general disdain for ID in the general scientific community, that is basically the way it would be regardless of whether or not what they were publishing or producing was legitimate. So from an argument standpoint, the fact it is 'incestuous' is not itself a good measure of the legitimacy of the work they are doing. One could argue that the general disdain of the scientific community is a fairly reasonable measure of the credibility of the work they are doing, if one trusted the general conscensus of the scientific community. However, even respecting that general conscensus, there have been (and likely will continue to be) cases where major scientific discoveries have been met - at first anyway - with a certain amount of disdain from the scientific community (Schweitzers work on soft tissue preservation in dinosaur bone would be a fairly recent example). So that too would need to be a position taken with caution.

So I think what Roy has done in this thread is the right way to deal with it. Read the paper and assess whether what it is trying to say is legitimate.

My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism. James 2:1

If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not  bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless James 1:26

This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; James 1:19

          Didn't know that.
