Yes, articles featuring anonymous sources making vague and unverifiable accusations that end up going nowhere.

But, like always, it turns out to be much ado about nothing.
Trump team met with lawyer linked to Kremlin during campaign and Donald Trump Jr. was promised damaging information about Hillary Clinton before the meeting. Whether or not this eventuated is beside the point. He was nevertheless prepared to accept support from Russia. No doubt the Mueller enquiry will tell us more in due course.

In stories about her meeting with Donald Trump Jr., Natalia Veselnitskaya, the unlikely celebrity in the latest installment of the Trump-Russia story, is often described as someone with "connections to the Kremlin." That's misleading, although her involvement still says much about how power works in Russia.

The red-brick fortress at the center of Moscow is the wrong architectural landmark in which to look for the ties that made Veselnitskaya a successful lawyer. The right building is a hulking, futuristic glass structure just outside the Moscow city limits, which houses the government of the Moscow region -- the constituent part of the Russian Federation which surrounds but doesn't include the city of Moscow.

The Russian system of power -- at least its all-important informal part -- has always been all about "levels." Russian President Vladimir Putin often uses the word to discriminate between matters that are worthy of his attention and those that aren't. The regional elites are several notches below the Kremlin level, which explains Putin spokesman Dmitri Peskov's snobbish reaction to news about Veselnitskaya: "No, we don't know who that is, we cannot follow all the meetings of all the Russian lawyers both inside the country and overseas."

              [...]

Talk of Veselnitskaya's Kremlin ties comes from her efforts to lobby for the repeal of the Magnitsky Act...

Which is to say that Veselnitskaya was far from being a top-level insider rubbing shoulders with Putin like the Times article deceptively implies.

And accepting damaging information about an opponent? That's not illegal, provided the information wasn't illegally obtained. The law only forbids financial donations, which is why NBC News recently made a big deal about the word "donations" supposedly appearing in Manafort's meeting notes only to hastily retract the story a few hours later after realizing they had gotten burned by one of their "anonymous" sources.

But seriously, kiddo, if you're so hot and bothered about a US candidate accepting damaging information from a foreign source then when are you going to condemn Hillary for doing exactly that when she colluded with the Ukrainian government and actually used the information against Trump's campaign?

              Source: Politico

Ukrainian government officials tried to help Hillary Clinton and undermine Trump by publicly questioning his fitness for office. They also disseminated documents implicating a top Trump aide in corruption and suggested they were investigating the matter, only to back away after the election. And they helped Clinton’s allies research damaging information on Trump and his advisers, a Politico investigation found.

              [...]

Politico’s investigation found evidence of Ukrainian government involvement in the race that appears to strain diplomatic protocol dictating that governments refrain from engaging in one another’s elections.

The NY Times will do me. Natalia Veselnitskaya, the lawyer who met Trump Jr. is seen as a fearsome Moscow insider. You can find links to place less emphasis on this but there are just as many that emphasise her closeness to the inner circle of the Kremlin.

More to the point, “It was Ms. Veselnitskaya’s desire to get the United States to reverse the Magnitsky Act that prompted her to seek a meeting with the Trump campaign, she said Saturday in written responses to questions from The New York Times.”

                https://www.nytimes.com/2017/07/11/w...r.html?mcubz=3

The Magnitsky Act is personally costing Putin, and many other Russian oligarchs billions of dollars frozen in accounts all around the world. It’s not beyond belief that Putin, via Veselnitskaya, would offer Trump Jr. some dirt on Hillary and assist the campaign in exchange for the abolition of the Magnitsky Act when Trump Sr. attained power. .

Right. And with all of this "evidence" you speak of, appearing every week for 6 months, not ONE actual charge has been leveled against Trump. Amazing. eh?

To be fair, charges wouldn't normally be filed until after the conclusion of the investigation.

if they had enough evidence they would charge him. No need to continue the investigation other than to add more charges.

The liberal narrative is that Mueller is going to find everything he possibly can and then drop charges on Trump all at once.

But you do make a good point: Since liberals are so hot and bothered about impeaching Trump as soon as possible, and since all they need is one solid piece of evidence linking him to a crime to remove him from office, then why haven't they acted already if the evidence against him is as damning as Dimbulb claims?

Nice ad hominem. I'm still waiting for more than picayune evidence against Breitbart; the couple attempts I've seen in the last year to present something substantive were rather underwhelming. Surely you have the intelligence to craft something more substantive than burning straw if it's as dastardly as you allege. Are you trying to make me start using them as a go-to source?

Because Mueller's investigation is not yet completed, as you yourself acknowledge above. But it seems to be gathering apace.

                                So funny!

The New York Times has long been regarded within the industry as a national "newspaper of record" - Encyclopedia Britannica. This as opposed to your biased rag of choice, namely the Alt-Right 'Breitbart'.
