    Hearing Friday

    The much awaited unemployment hearing to decide if I get benefits is Friday at 8:30 am. I'll have to drive down to Dothan Thursday night because of course it's as far south as it can get and still be in Alabama...

    Sigh...

    Anyway, I'm going alone - which is yes, stupid. I don't have anyone to represent me. It may not matter if my old employer doesn't send anyone - and they didn't bother to show up for the phone hearing. I dunno. I don't have very high hopes for this thing.

    But maybe I'm just being cynical. Which I need to stop doing...

    Yep, need prayer...

                            I showed up but the employer didn't. They asked a few questions and that was it.

                            No idea how long until I get a result - I don't think it was more than a few weeks last time.

                              With only half a semester of civil procedure under my belt, it's my understanding that a no show from a party results in a default judgement.

                              But again, half semester.
