Well you don't have to go to hell Star, you can repent this very night!
Atheism is the cult of death, the death of hope. The universe is doomed, you are doomed, the only thing that remains is to await your execution...

Well, thought this would be a perfect opportunity to take the mickey a bit. Turns out we all want to talk about hell instead. Misread that one.

It's an opportunity for whatever you'd like really. Porn, hell, sex, polygamy, STDs, all the good topics.

Hefner's death makes me wonder whether there is sex in the Christian afterlife. Jesus' response to the question of who a man who'd been married multiple times in his life would be married to in the afterlife, was that man would be like the angels in the afterlife and not marry. That could be interpreted as no sex... or as very liberated sexual activities. I guess for Hefner, heaven might seem like hell if there's no sex.

Personally, of all Christian views of the afterlife, I always kind of liked Origen's view: God reincarnates people endlessly until they've reached sufficient perfection and then he lets them into heaven.

Of course you like that view, because it essentially means never being held accountable for your sins.

It's morning here. I repented and welcomed Jesus into my heart as a kid. Depending on your theology that might be still working for me.

Over time the amount of evidence against Christianity in my mind has continued to accumulate to be sky-high, as have the reasons I have for condemning Christianity and for viewing it with utter contempt. I can't envision a future where I'm ever a Christian again. It's possible that with time I might one day be able to forgive Christianity/Christians for their evils and the harms they have done to myself and others, and change from feeling actively hostile and utterly contemptuous toward it to merely neutral and tolerant and agnostic.

Your pseudo-psychology is soooo off base it's hilarious.

The reason I like that theological view because it paints God as not a monster. Other more common Christian views of hell essentially depict God as an awful and nasty being who is more evil than the worst human dictator in history.

As my post above alluded, God doesn't send people to hell. People choose to go there.
Enter the Church and wash away your sins. For here there is a hospital and not a court of law. Do not be ashamed to enter the Church; be ashamed when you sin, but not when you repent. St. John Chrysostom

Yes, you think it makes God "not a monster" because you're essentially never held accountable for your sins.

I like the view that both the repentant and unrepentant will spend eternity in God's presence; for the former it will be heaven, and for the latter it will be hell.
