I do struggle to reconcile this with the fact that John the Baptist did not condemn the centurions which is why I'm not 100% convinced."For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings." Hosea 6:6

There's a Mennonite like group back in Waco. They're really nice and their sense of community is attractive. However as I understand it they reject Trinitarianism. I've never been explicitly told what they hold instead, but my suspicion is modalism, Patrick.

A friend of mine married a Mennonite who is a professor in aerospace engineering so clearly there is no universal rejection of technology."I am not angered that the Moral Majority boys campaign against abortion. I am angry when the same men who say, "Save OUR children" bellow "Build more and bigger bombers." That's right! Lots of diversity among Mennonites. One of my best friends in high school was a Mennonite who was obsessed with military strategy, go figure.
A couple months back, I picked up a bunch of goodies from the local Mennonite historical society's annual book sale. I look forward to a little challenge (I have some sympathies with pacifism (as well as some critiques), but those usually wane pretty quickly every time I make the mistake of talking to an actual pacifist about it, heh)."The Jesus Christ who saves sinners is the same Christ who beckons his followers to serious use of their minds for serious explorations of the world." - Mark Noll

This is why I would probably not maintain the position as absolutely as he does. His blog post about Christians who would resort to guns instead of prayer in an emergency situation rang somewhat hollow with me.Last edited by KingsGambit; 10-02-2017, 10:14 PM."I am not angered that the Moral Majority boys campaign against abortion.
