You seem to know a lot about such capers - have you been in Zymologist's neighborhood lately?

Have you checked behind the bushes to make sure it didn't just fall off? Also, don't leave stuff outside like that.

I had a friend in college whose car was such a piece of junk that he actually half-jokingly asked me once if it would be unethical to intentionally leave it out with the keys in the ignition.

We used to kid "and $10 under the windshield wiper for gas".
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

I once had a car like that. A red Pontiac Sunbird. Sold it for $100 and gave the guy a case of transmission fluid (you needed to add a quart after about 20 to 30 miles) and a funnel.

Several months later the guy I sold it to dropped by to thank me for helping him save his job and show me his new Mercedes.

I'm always still in trouble again

The criminal is watching your yard so he can steal the other half of the bicycle.

Unicycles are great fun. I grew up with them. Someone I believe crossed the country on a unicycle.

A month or so ago, I left my unicycle outside for a couple nights. It was in my front yard and under the awning, but not fenced in or anything. I got home from work one day and noticed that it was gone. I'm not particularly irritated about it being stolen, mostly because (in my mind) I shouldn't have been an idiot and left my unicycle outside like that.

                    Am I victim blaming?
I think you should be glad if you don't get charged with providing an "attractive nuisance" if the thief has an accident and has to go to the E.R. to get the thing extracted from his hind parts.

No, since you pointed at yourself. Victim blaming requires pointing at another person.
