I don't understand this part myself. I have never paid to watch a game of any sort being played.
Micah 6:8 He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

Football is basically a guy with a whistle and a flag who occasionally is interrupted by a bunch of guys banging into each other while one of them moves the ball a foot or two till it reaches one end of the field, then they start over.

No, more like one team with the ball trying to outwit the team without the ball, only about half of which are banging into each other. I enjoy watching it because it is pretty complex; each member of the team has to perform his job correctly in order to win each play (as opposed to baseball, where it's basically a pitcher dueling a batter, and the rest of the team only gets involved if the pitcher loses).

          That's what I don't get about porn.

it's so complex that they successfully replicated it in the 1960's with a vibrating table and some plastic players.

Hey, I'd pay to watch two super-strong fat guys in weird loincloths shove each other around in an exciting clash of the behemoths.

(Fortunately there is a wealth of videos on youtube so I don't have to)

"Successfully" is a humongous stretch. That's rather more like rugby than football.

At least they didn't kneel during the National Anthem!

It is only complex because there are a lot of complex rules involved. It was not complex when we played as kids.

It is complex because there are a lot of good athletes with an instinctive feel for the game involved. A team playing like you did as kids would struggle to defeat high school teams, let alone a professional team.

                          Pshaw!

All you would need to do is start playing the National Anthem and then run a touchdown while they were all kneeling.

Looking at virtually all professional sports there is a world of difference in how they're played today than they were back in the 50s and 60s. Back then during the off season most athletes had part-time jobs to supplement their income. Spring Training in baseball was essential because most of the players showed up out of shape and out of practice. Not now where most train year around. It wasn't uncommon for players to still be half drunk when they were out on the field. Many still party pretty hard but they're now much more careful not to let it interfere with their job. Plays made routinely today were considered exemplary back then.

I'm always still in trouble again

Yep. Training Camp for football used to be the same way.
