Even if had been deprived a gun, would it have made a difference? He probably would have simply run down people with his car instead, or used the explosives he was reported to have been packing

Agreed. jimmy has never given even the slightest indication that he's in any way prone to violence.

Besides, even if he did own a firearm I imagine something like this would far more likely be the result:

I'm always still in trouble again

"You're by far the worst poster on TWeb" and "TWeb's biggest liar" --starlight (the guy who says Stalin was a right-winger)
"Overall I would rate the withdrawal from Afghanistan as by far the best thing Biden's done" --Starlight

Using a car would be a much chancier proposition, and would've had much less impact. Explosives take a little more finesse - he'd either have to hide them and figure a way to remotely detonate them, or blow himself up. Since he ran when confronted, I don't think he'd have had the fortitude to blow himself up.

As for using a bomb... Timothy McVeigh demonstrated all you have to do is park a rental truck next to the building and set the timer (not exactly a daunting challenge).

Knife attacks have also proven to be extremely deadly. The point, of correct, is that if this guy was intent on committing murder, the lack of a gun would not have proven to a hindrance.

I suppose it's been a tad more difficult to come up with that much explosive since then, however.

Autocorrect strikes again! Yes, if he was intent on committing murder, he would have found a way. However, I think you'd agree that a gun is the easiest and most likely way to succeed with minimal effort. You never know if the higher level of effort/risk required to use the other methods would have held him back.

                    Depends on what you know.

But this was a small church. A small building in comparison to the 9-story Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building so you wouldn't need nearly as much.

Farmers still use the stuff needed to make explosives. And they use it in quantity.

                        for FBC Sutherland

I wanted to give you an update on what our SABA response will be to assist FBC Sutherland and their community.

I spoke to the Gambrell Baptist Association office this morning and as well as one of their pastors who is helping lead their response. As of right now, here is the first thing we can begin doing to help those affected. We have been given permission to receive donations for funeral expenses.

SABA is creating a fund to help FBC Sutherland families pay for funeral expenses. If you would like to contribute to the fund, please mail or drop a check by at the SABA office. We are not using an online donation method because that type of service charges a fee. We want all of the funds raised to go directly to the families.

                        Make funeral donation checks to:

                        San Antonio Baptist Association
                        5807 IH-10 West
                        San Antonio, Texas 78201

In the memo line: FBC Sutherland

help spread the word if you hear somebody say they wish there was something they could do.
Currently trying to verify a report that the State of Texas will be paying for the funerals for Sutherland Springs victims out of the Texas Crime Victims' Compensation Fund. If this is true (and I have a Texas State Senator checking on this for me) then any funds donated for funerals will be used, instead, for repairs to the church and other related expenses.

Will update here as soon as I can confirm this.

It's a combination of autocorrect, small text on the phone screen, eyes that aren't as sharp as they used to be, and a lack of careful proofreading before hitting the submit button.

Or waiting til Church was over and they all came out pretty much at once.

Steal a heavy truck like a cement mixer or even garbage truck could likely do it. On a Sunday morning nobody would likely notice for awhile that it was missing.
