Want to argue about politics? Healthcare reform? Taxes? Governments? You've come to the right place!
Try to keep it civil though. The rules still apply here.

IMO, "abortion isn't murder because it's legal" is trivially true, and misses the point of the original claim. Yes, obviously abortion isn't legally murder; I'd think it rather obvious that's not what was being referred to in the first place.I DENOUNCE DONALD J. TRUMP AND ALL HIS IMMORAL ACTS.

IMO people should be cautious in applying the teachings of someone who lived 2000 years ago to modern political or economic theory. Ideas about government and economics have progressed a lot since Roman times, and how Jesus viewed wealth could have been different post industrial revolution/globalization/etc.Find my speling strange? I'm trying this out: Simplified Speling. Feel free to join me.
"Nature has placed mankind under the governance of two sovereign masters, pain and pleasure. It is for them alone to point out what we ought to do, as well as to determine what we shall do."-Jeremy Bentham
"We question all our beliefs, except for the ones that we really believe in, and those we never think to question."-Orson Scott Card

When the Good Samaritan came across a man in need, he didn't call some government agency, or take him there to sign him up for public assistance - he took care of the matter himself, with his own money, because he cared. The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

And the rich guy said "ah, I don't think so Lord, I didn't realize I'd have to sacrifice my stuff to follow you." If you are truly a christian, then you would support the type of government in which taxes are collected in order to care for the poor.
To me, most of you anti-socialist here are pseudo christians, the plight of other less fortunate people really doesn't matter to you, so long as you can pretend to care, or so long as you can get something out of it for yourself, like the good feeling you get when directly and personally helping someone. If you were truly a christian you'd support the kind of government that would exist if Jesus himself were the head of it, not someone like Trump who, along with the republican congress, is still working at throwing 13 million people off of healthcare with his tax cuts for the wealthy policy.
