It continues to amaze me just how much you are subject to conspiracy theories.

I heard an interesting commentator today pointing out that in the US, a lot of the right-wing groups receive massive big-donor funding and do astroturfing, and so a lot of the right-wing commentators naturally assume that the left does the same thing as they themselves do.

So with MM's favorite news website Breitbart being bankrolled by the Mercers, and with the very few climate-change denying scientists being bankrolled by big oil, MM naturally assumes that the masses on the left must be as corrupt as the people on his team, so therefore it must be true that George Soros funded the Women's March, Big Science must be funding all those climate-change scientists, school kids getting political in Florida after gun violence must be convenient figureheads for pre-existing anti-gun groups, etc.

Then it boggles my mind how you can blithely roll your eyes when it's blatantly obvious that the historical temperature record has been corrupted by recent "adjustments".

It's "obvious" to those who:

1) do not understand the scientific process
2) are prone to conspiracy theories
3) get their information from such an obviously agenda-driven blog (or other agenda-driven media outlets)

If you dig around a bit to see WHY the numbers have adjusted (and which ones actually haven't and are being falsified), you quickly find that most of this is yet another pander to the right-wing, "climate change is a hoax" clan.

Really, MM, it's not worth my time. It's like talking to a flat-earther. When a person is capable of rejecting enough science to cling to "flat-earth," then no amount of reasoning or discussion is going to make a difference. The same is true of climate deniers, IMO. You show clear indications of all three things listed above. The discussion is not even on a rational basis.

For which I'm sure I'll earn yet another variation on laughing emojis, or rolled eyes (which would be fair, since I used them at the start of this discussion).
