But you're not going to see that; you're too committed to the "Obama is Muslim" conspiracy theory. Given the nature of your reading material, MM, it's not really surprising.

Obama: You’re absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith and you’re absolutely right that that has not …
Stephanopoulos (interrupting): Your Christian faith.
Obama: My Christian faith. Well, what I’m saying …
Stephanopoulos (interrupting): Connections, right.
Obama (continuing) is that he hasn’t suggested that I’m a Muslim, and I think that his campaign upper echelons have not either.

Personally, I think the better line is that he's an atheist, like his dad.

The exchange doesn't come close to indicating that Obama is a muslim - you might want to reconsider using it as evidence of such since that interpretation makes your argument look ridiculous even to those sympathetic to the possibility."He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose." - Jim Elliot

How does that make sense in the context where Stephanopolous is claiming that McCain never attacked Obama as a Muslim, and Obama is ceding that point? No one ever suggested that McCain, or any Republican, was attacking Obama's Christian faith. Why would they? Some may call me foolish, and some may call me odd

In a display of typical liberal cluelessness, Conan O'Brien visits a high-priced, private resort in Haiti and declares it a beautiful country.

People were quick to respond to his Tweet pointing out that if he walked just a few miles beyond those idyllic hills in the background then he would come face to face with the real Haiti with its stifling poverty and crime rate that can only be described as horrific, and which looks nothing like the exclusive resort he chose to stay at which likely costs more to visit for a day than the average Haitian makes in a year.

It's also a badly impoverished country struggling with corruption, and it has some remote areas that are sorely in need. My brother launched a nonprofit and has devoted the last several years to helping the people of the Bayonnaise valley (several villages, about 11K people) to build up their own infrastructure and become more self-sustaining. Because of their erosion control, reforestation, and farming education efforts (as well as food support in the recent drought, aid in building educational infrastructure, development of medical infrastructure, and water reclamation projects), the valley has ridden through the last two hurricanes with far less impact than much of the rest of the island.
Anyone who would like to contribute to a group that is actually making a difference (and 100% of the donated money goes to their charitable efforts, which are generally engineered to be self-sustaining - usually using local labor and resources. No one draws a salary and even volunteers have to pay their own way to get to Haiti), you can find the organization here: http://www.nfoh.orgThe ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy...returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Much of Haiti is absolutely gorgeous. It is in some of those areas that resorts tend to build, but Hatian beauty is not limited to resort areas. There are also very ugly areas where poverty and crime and taken their toll, as with all countries. Haiti has a disproportionate amount of the latter, especially in and around urban areas.Last edited by carpedm9587; 01-23-2018, 08:38 AM.The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy...returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars.
