Glory Seed Devotional’s 2018 Experiencing Jesus, the Prelude to Life
We are fearfully and wonderfully created…
Shalom!
I come across a label attached to those of us who are not a physically fit as we used to be, some may even be bedridden. The label? Invalid. Every time I hear or encounter the word it begins to make my blood boil. The dictionary defines invalid as: “a person made weak or disabled by illness or injury.” While that may define a lot of us, shame on us or anyone who looks at us as an invalid because is spite of what the dictionary says when we break the word down it says, in-valid, an invalid is an in-valid! In God’s eyes NO ONE IS IN-VALID! For example. think about this, “ For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” (Psalm 139:13–14, ESV, emphasis mine)
Not only are those of us who are physically challenged, fearfully and wonderfully made we have a very important ministry to give in spite of our handicap. “O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds. So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come.” (Psalm 71:17–18, ESV, emphasis mine) Not only can we share our Jesus stories with those who come in contact with us we also have an important prayer ministry to give.
While it is true “things” can become in-valid that is NOT true with people every person no matter whether they are healthy or not, whether they are young or old, no matter what race they are, no matter whether they are woman or man is of ultimate worth to God and until we all see each other with God’s understanding there will always be hatred, prejudice, greed, and deadly conflicts. In your prayers do not only pray for Peace pray also that the people of the world will begin to understand each other and life with God’s understanding, because the day will come when, “Night will be no more; people will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, because the Lord God will give them light (His understanding), and they will reign forever and ever.” (Revelation 22:5, CSB, added comment mine)
“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life…” **
Grace and PEACE,
Gary
