Like somebody frequently referring to the President as "Fat Donny".
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

This Dr. is supposed to be credible, and he may be, but I don't believe that one for a second. If Trump only wieghs 239 lbs then the scale they used must be off by 40 or 50 lbs.
My experiences with being weighed by doctors and nurses is they're not all that worried about being particularly accurate: They'll do it with clothes and shoes on and cellphone+wallet in your pocket etc and then deduct several pounds in estimation for those things, and they're quite happy to be a little be malleable with their estimates to please the patient. Height tends to be a bit malleable as well (people's height varies anyway throughout the day as the spine decompresses at night when you're horizontal).

Doctors are malleable about it in order to please patients because from a medical perspective all they are interested in is a ballpark figure - there is zero value in being super-accurate about these things. All they are after is general things like: Should I be recommending this person lose weight (in Trump's case, yes, his doctor did); is the person losing massive amounts of weight rapidly that I should do a medical investigation as to why (e.g. possible cancer) etc?

Given I'm aware that the average doctor is 100% fine with creatively shaving 5-10 lbs off patients' weights when the patient suggests that maybe their true weight is lower than what the doctor is seeing on the scales, I can totally believe that this doctor, knowing that Trump's results would be publicly released (and perhaps totally reasonably feeling that publicly fat-shaming someone by releasing their weight isn't really fair), and feeling a higher than usual level of obligation to his client, he might say "okay, because it has no real medical value, I'm happy to shave X lbs off the publicly reported weight, Mr President, on the condition that you agree to follow the diet I have laid out for you, and lose some weight."
"I hate him passionately", he's "a demonic force" - Tucker Carlson, in private, on Donald Trump
"Every line of serious work that I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism" - George Orwell
"[Capitalism] as it exists today is, in my opinion, the real source of evils. I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy" - Albert Einstein

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. The Doctor is said to be very credible so it seemed wierd to me that his wieght seemed to be so far off. But your explanation makes a lot of sense. I think it's a riot though that it was shaved down to 1 lb under obesity. That sounds just like something Trump would do.

You don't believe the official Physician to the President appointed by Obama, but anything a stray doctor hired by Hillary is gospel? Wow. (This, Leonhard is real special pleading.)

I have no idea why Starlight or JimL is putting so much weight on that.

              Yes pun was entirely intended.

It's because their "Trump has dementia" narrative was blown out of the water, so now they've moved on to the "Trump is obese, and his doctor lied about his weight" narrative. Even that hack on CNN, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, was claiming that Trump has heart disease, and I guess the presidential physician missed it or something? Who knows with these guys.

Ah, Dr. Jackson admitted that Trump has heart disease. At first he said that Trump past all the tests with flying colors. Then Dr Gupta questioned him about the numbers which indicated that Trump had heart disease, and then Dr. Jackson admitted yes he did have heart disease. Having heart disease is not passing everything with flying colors, so why the good Doctor would frame it that way I don't know.

Even the Washington Post is calling B.S. on this.

Source: Conspiracy theories about Trump’s weight are becoming gratuitous

The White House press briefing has played host to plenty of tortured moments during Donald Trump's presidency. But none may have been quite as cringeworthy as Tuesday's. After White House doctor Ronny Jackson ran through the results of President Trump's annual physical, reporters peppered him with questions about Trump's weight, eating and exercise habits, and, yes, even his mental health. The inescapable undertone of it all was basically: Is this 71-year-old man stable, and might he deteriorate and die?

That conversation has continued into Wednesday, thanks in large part to armchair physicians suggesting Jackson lied about Trump's height and/or weight — the term “girther” has quickly taken hold — and CNN's Sanjay Gupta even diagnosing Trump with heart disease, which Jackson disputed Tuesday.

Jackson was asked twice if Trump's test results indicated heart disease and answered "No, not at all" and added that "[Trump's] cardiac health is excellent." Gupta himself then asked Jackson if Trump has heart disease to which Jackson replied, "No, he does not have heart disease."

Gupta, who is a neurosurgeon and not an expert on heart disease, is no stranger of criticism for his reporting. For instance, Trudy Lieberman, who is a regular Nation (the oldest and largest liberal weekly magazine) contributor on healthcare as well as the director of the health and medicine reporting program at the City University of New York, has used terms like "ineptitude" to describe Gupta's reporting.

Trump’s physician Dr. Ronny Jackson delivered an extensive review of the president’s health to the White House press corps Tuesday in which he characterized it overall as “excellent.” During the briefing, CNN medical analyst Dr. Sanjay Gupta specifically asked Jackson whether Trump had heart disease to which he replied, “No, he does not have heart disease.

Just accept it, Jimmy, the President is healthy, smart, and mentally alert, which I think is probably more than can be said about you.
