Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotional’s 2018 Experiencing Jesus, the Prelude to Life
    We are Holy Ground…
    Shalom!

“But the one sown on the good ground—this is one who hears and understands the word, who does produce fruit and yields: some a hundred, some sixty, some thirty times what was sown.”” (Matthew 13:23, CSB)

If you are reading this you are the good ground Jesus was talking about in this parable. Anyone who has ever planted a vegetable or flower garden know in between planting and harvesting those are crucial times if your garden will have a good yield. Don’t forget during the growing season most of the nurturing work is done to the ground not the plants.

In an actual garden the ground cannot do anything by itself the gardener does all the work, but that is not the case with us we need time in the “wilderness”, personal devotional and bible study time, time with other Christians (church), and most importantly 24/7 time spent with the Holy Spirit. While all times are equally important perhaps time spent in the “wilderness” slightly edges out the other ones by the narrowest of margins yet according to Peter contain great Blessings.

“So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.” (1 Peter 1:6-7, NLT)

I don’t know about you but those times of “testing” bring out my impatience which is probably my reason for being tested in the first place. My belief is, if God is going to get me through this then let Him shorten my time here. But His response is always the same, “Not by your timeline, but by My timeline.” And we all know who prevails don’t we? I am glad and Blessed because in that case I am both the loser and winner. God is the GREATEST!

David who some would say was financially challenged attends the same church we do puts in a garden every spring and in the fall at harvest time everyone in the church has plenty of tomatoes and other fresh vegetables, in addition David gives some to the food banks in the area. Out of his “financial wilderness” David shares the fruit of his harvest setting an example for the rest of us.

What’s your ground to yield story?

“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life…” **
    Grace and PEACE,
    Gary
