Trump appointee Carl Higbie resigns as public face of agency that runs AmeriCorps after KFile review of racist, sexist, anti-Muslim and anti-LGBT comments on the radio

Trump administration appointee Carl Higbie resigned Thursday as chief of external affairs for the federal government's volunteer service organization after a CNN KFile review of racist, sexist, anti-Muslim and anti-LGBT comments he made on the radio.
"Effective immediately, Carl Higbie has resigned as Chief of External Affairs at CNCS," Samantha Jo Warfield, a spokesperson for CNCS, said in a statement.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Higbie's resignation.
Higbie, a former Navy SEAL and conservative media personality, was a surrogate for Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign, appearing on cable news and serving as the spokesman for the Trump-aligned Great America PAC. He was appointed to the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) in 2017 to direct the public image and messaging of the federal department that manages millions of Americans in volunteer services like AmeriCorps and Senior Corps.

Self loathing multiplier aside, I'm not sure why you think you are superior to him given that his racial grievances are about things that are happening today whereas yours are about things that happened before any of us were alive.

Yep! He was Trump's man alright.

I always find it fascinating how people who nobody ever heard of before suddenly become important front men for the Trump campaign or administration once they have been exposed doing something the left finds is wrong.

Breaking news! Bob Nobody, a janitor at the White House was caught stealing silverware from the main dining room. Bob, a key and trusted person in Trump's administration blah blah blah.

The left got really upset when things Obama's appointees did and said were directly associated with him. I guess they've changed their minds and now figure that he's, for instance, a 9/11 Truther[1] and admirer of Mao Zedong[2]

It is just so pathetic how desperate they are to smear some dirt on Trump. They will take any connection, no matter how tenuous and blow it completely out of proportion, making it sound like the biggest breaking story in the world.

The Ambassador to Panama also resigned due to Trumps recent comments concerning s...hole countries, and 54 ambassadors from Africa demanded apologies from president. So much for the U.S image of, as Regan put it, the shining city on a hill, the beacon of hope.

Except for the fact that he wasn't a Bob Nobody, and neither was the the Ambassador to Panama a nobody, and neither are the 54 Ambassadors to Africa nobodys, and neither are the dozens of other Trump administration officials who have resigned, nobodys. Trumps an embarassment around the world, and so now is the U.S.

yes he is a bob nobody. Never heard of the guy before today and neither had you. And what he said was said in 2013 and not reported until today?

And the ambassador to Panama is a nobody too. They usually stick people they want to get rid of in those odd ambassador jobs. And who cares what some foreign ambassadors in some rinky-dink african countries think about Trump? And they were Ambassadors FROM Africa not TO Africa (they were not our ambassadors)

Historically, many ambassadorships (especially to smaller countries) end up being given to large contributors and the like as a way of saying thanks. Typically when they resign it ends their political "career."
