Paul does mention that, just not a physical resurrection as appears in the gospels (except Mark).

Actually, Paul affirms the physical Resurrection.

Yes, the story makes a theological point, there's no good reason to think it's historically accurate. For Christians the Jewish sacrifice and consumption of the Passover lamb was an attempt to atone for sin. But Jesus was the one true sacrifice sacrifice for sin. This is why Christ is known as the Lamb of God.

    Right!

1 Corinthians 15:16-19New American Standard Bible (NASB)

16 For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised; 17 and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19 If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied.
If it weren't for the Resurrection of Jesus, we'd all be in DEEP TROUBLE!

I didn't ask whether he mentioned it. I asked why he mentioned it if his readers already knew about it. "They already knew" was supposed to explain why he didn't mention any other facts about Jesus.

Relevance to the matters at hand. The matter at hand is not the supper itself, but the wine and the bread.

Rhinestone you have been told numerous times not to derail other threads with your Paul believed in a spiritual resurrection nonsense. You can keep that in your own thread http://www.theologyweb.com/campus/sh...tion-of-Christ

The derail has been moved to "Gary & Rhinestone's Thread on Burial and Resurrection of Christ" in this forum.
Micah 6:8 He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

I was not commenting on the OP. I was responding to this particular comment by Christianbookworm: "Why does Paul need to mention that Jesus died around Passover? He was writing to Christians who knew that already!"
