Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotional’s 2018 Experiencing Jesus, the Prelude to Life
Hard times are a illusionary reality…
    Shalom!

Jesus spoke to them again: "I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life." (John 8:12, CSB)

I don’t know about you but when going through hard times I have the tendency to focus on the “light at the end of the tunnel,” to the time when hard times are gone. Somehow and I don’t really know why when trying to look ahead I usually wind up getting blindsided by present day hardness. Finally, after setting my sights to far ahead I learned this lesson: it’s not the light at the end of the tunnel I need to look for but the present-day Light. There are at least two ways of arriving your destination fly or driving, both offer something different. Flying is quicker and less troublesome. Driving on the other hand is slower and can be troublesome yet it exposes the travelers to the beauty of our world. While it’s a matter of choice, it’s also a matter of following God’s plan for your life, and there are no short cuts in God’s plan.

In case you’d like or need a reality check on the song Where Corn Don’t Go illustrates the truth. For me it is a parable and if you decide to click on the link think about the father in the song as God. https://youtu.be/X9nb8rMwkaA. My “beef” with the song is while hard times are real for those who love and have a relationship with God hard times are illusionary at best. Psalms 34 carries with it one of the most powerful promises in God’s plan when it comes to going through hard times.

“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and rescues them from all their troubles. The LORD is near the brokenhearted; he saves those crushed in spirit. One who is righteous has many adversities, but the LORD rescues him from them all. He protects all his bones; not one of them is broken.” (Psalms 34:17-20, CSB)

The watch and go word for today is BELIEVE!

“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life…” **

    Grace and PEACE,
    Gary
