There is no question that he has left his post - and some say voluntarily and others say forced. But I am not finding any confirmation that he was "fired." Fired usually means he has lost employment with that company/agency. As far as I know, he is still employed, but not a deputy director. He has essentially been demoted. Is anyone finding something else?

One definition of insanity is trying to do something that doesn't work (kinda like me) over and over expecting a different result. Watching you try to banninate the unbannibatable is like watching a particularly dumb puppy run into a wall again and again, never learning any better. Generally I feel sorry for such people, but in your case I just sit back with a tub of popcorn and watch the show (it never gets old).

Which is generally the reason for extending the offer from the company's perspective. As I said most still take it because they are worried about having been recently fired in their job history. Besides, most seem to think they'll have another job in a couple weeks -- long before any sort of unemployment could kick in.

That is true. I always gave my people that choice. I once had the ugly task of laying off 95% of the people who reported to me over a 12 month period. It was ugly...
