Atheism is the cult of death, the death of hope. The universe is doomed, you are doomed, the only thing that remains is to await our execution...

And John specifically departs from Greek grammar rules in John 14:16 and elsewhere, using a masculine singular pronoun to refer to the neuter word for "Spirit".

"What I pray of you is, to keep your eye upon Him, for that is everything. Do you say, 'How am I to keep my eye on Him?' I reply, keep your eye off everything else, and you will soon see Him. All depends on the eye of faith being kept on Him. How simple it is!" (J.B. Stoney)

IIRC, in John where Jesus is quoted as referring to God as "father" more than the four Synoptic gospels combined.

I'm always still in trouble again

You're by far the worst poster on TWeb -- starlight (the guy who says Stalin was a right-winger)

    They added a synoptic gospel?

1 Tim 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.

For the longest time I couldn't remember which of the 4 gospels were the synoptics -- it was a weird mental block. Then one day, just like a light coming on, I thought ... I don't have to remember which ones ARE - I just have to remember that John ISN'T!

1 Tim 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.

I'm triggered; I prefer to think of Jesus as a queer black woman (yes, this is actually what an article in a decent journal did).

In Genesis 17, the passage of scripture where God makes the Covenant of Circumcision with Abram, the Hebrew "El Shaddai" is traditionally translated as "God Almighty;" the Inclusive Bible renders it "the breasted one."
When I have the time, I'd love to see how badly they distort the original Hebrew and Greek.
