    Glory Seed Devotional, 2018.02.06.07

Glory Seed Devotional’s 2018 Experiencing Jesus, the Prelude to Life
    We are all Glory Seeds…
    Shalom!

“I came to you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. My speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of wisdom but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, so that your faith might not be based on human wisdom but on God's power.” (1 Corinthians 2:3-5)

Have you ever felt like one of your bible hero’s or heroines, even though knowing you’d never measure up to them? I have, yesterday when reading the Tecarda Bible Verse of the Day quoted above I felt a little like the apostle Paul (only a great deal smaller than life version) only rather then speaking and preaching in writing, primarily these Glory Seeds.

I read in a book about Paul where it mentioned he was a tent maker by trade. I am not sure if a tent maker was considered “blue collar” worker or not, but as a factor worker by trade I am. I am sure Paul had more a formal education than I have, I know one thing he was much more of spiritual giant than I’ll ever be but one thing we have in common is both our words written and spoken, “were not with persuasive words of wisdom but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power.”

I began writing Glory Seeds in 2002, unfortunately I do not have the file from 2002 but do have them since 2003. Probably around 6 months ago I began thinking Glory Seeds have become much more than just a writing ministry to me, I found they were becoming a part of me, I guess in a way my life was a Glory Seed. But I didn’t stop there soon I began seeing us all as Glory Seeds planted at this time with the specific responsibility for using our lives to bring Glory to God. Jesus put it this way… “You are the light of the world. A city situated on a hill cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket, but rather on a lampstand, and it gives light for all who are in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14–16)

What we need to remember is we don’t need to be apostle Paul’s, or Isaiah’s, or David’s, or Peter’s, or Moses’, or Billy Graham, we simply need to be the person we were born. Each of us is a very special and unique miracle endowed with the Holy Spirit igniting our lives with the Light of Jesus. God wants us to be who we are with all our human frailties because out of our clay vessels will come our God Story co-authored by God. As I think about my life as a broken clay vessel again I turn to Paul and taking no offense and happily and joyfully accepting, “Brothers and sisters, consider your calling: Not many were wise from a human perspective, not many powerful, not many of noble birth. Instead, God has chosen what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen what is weak in the world to shame the strong.” (1 Corinthians 1:26-27)

Crustyism 2018.02.07… White collar workers, blue collar workers, no collar workers it makes to difference we all are endowed with the same Holy Spirit, loved by the same God, and forgiven by the same Jesus!

“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life…” (John 14:6)

    Grace and PEACE,
    Gary

I enjoy your Glory Seed posts. This one especially picked me up. I have been feeling a bit down and lonely this last week (I had to put my dog to sleep)

    Thanks for cheering me up.

Thanks for sharing my friend. We's had to put two of our pets down and know the pain and loneliness that comes with it. Prayers and blessings for you!
