Yeah, I found where he talked a lot about the electoral college and how it stinks, but nothing about the faithless electors.

You probably guessed it's from AC/DC's Highway to Hell. Never thought I would quote it in a serious context. These Christians have supported a president who is responsible for a treatment of children that can be described as torture and they continue to support their leader when he trusts a man working actively to undermine democracy (Putin) over democratic institutions in the USA. They gave up all their ideals in their search for power that the promised land is certainly starting to look, smell and feel like hell. So far, unfortunately, the innocent children have had to pay the price. I fear that it is not the end.
Ah, you must understand, Trump supports their prejudices against LGBT rights and abortion. For that they will overlook anything and everything.

You always resort to this sad objection when something's hitting too close to home.

You've pretty much stated in the past you voted for Trump because of the Supreme Court, which I assume primarily means 'stopping abortion' for you, so which part of Tass's statement was wrong exactly?

Well, nothing was hitting close to home, so 'strike one' there....

'You've pretty much stated in the past you voted for Trump because of the Supreme Court, which I assume primarily means 'stopping abortion' for you,
You know what we do with that word "assume", yes? You're making the case. And, it was NOT to stop abortion - it was to prevent Hillary from making it more leftist. That's 'strike two'. I have consistently said it was so...

And yet actions speak louder than words. How is:

                    1. Pushing for a stronger NATO .
                    2. Pressuring Germany to gain energy independence from Russia.
                    3. Giving Ukraine weapons and training.
                    4. Countering Russia in Syria.
                    5. Putting greater sanctions on Russia and pressing Europe to do the same.

The signs of a Russian Puppet? Simply put, it isn’t. Stop with the conspiracy theories, they don’t help your cause.

Having a few states control the entire country would be a disaster. The other states would have no say in the government. It is the united STATES of America. Much like the EU, each state has its own government and wants a voice in the federal government. And within each state there are counties, and each county has a government and wants a say in the state government. We are a representative democracy all the way down to the city level.
Is there really any "alignment" by state in the House of Representatives? Alignment in the House of Representatives seems to be done principally by party, not by state. And if everyone's representing party interests rather than state interests, I'm not sure that the idea of a few states controlling the entire House of Representatives is really plausible of a fear because state doesn't seem like that strong a factor in how someone votes. Any geographic loyalty seems to be to their specific district, not their state as a whole. I mean, you look at Paul Ryan, and then you look at, say, Mark Pocan (same state) and there's very few similarities I see.

I mean, I could be totally wrong about this. Is there a real alignment in voting along state lines, even among those of different parties? Or is state largely incidental in this factor?

Not all districts within a state have the same interest.

                          • I thought this might throw some fuel on the fire. Here’s what democrats said when they figured a Clinton victory was all but assured and the election was just a formality:

Hackers could create mischief -- some say "chaos" -- but the election system is resilient enough to withstand shocks. The key concern, experts feel, is public perception: Sowing distrust is easily achieved even without successful hacks.

Yes. Former CIA director John Brennan said: the Trump-Putin press conference “nothing short of treasonous”. “Not only were Trump’s comments imbecilic, he is wholly in the pocket of Putin.”
