  • Trump and Stormy Daniels

For those not following the general developments of this story over the last month, let's recap... Allegedly:

    - Shortly after Trump's son Barron, was born in 2006, Trump cheated on his wife Melania, with a porn star who goes by the stage-name 'Stormy Daniels' (real name Stephanie Gregory Clifford).
    - Stormy Daniels mentioned the affair shortly after the time, but it was not widely publicized.
    - Shortly before the November 2016, Trump's lawyer contacted Stormy Daniels and a number of other women Trump had had affairs with and gave them hush-money. Stormy Daniels received $130k.
    - It was generally alleged by the media that there was a non-disclosure agreement in place preventing Stormy Daniels from talking and she supported this notion in interviews by refusing to give answers with a smile on her face.
    - Trump's lawyer seems to have a constantly shifting story about who actually paid for this hush money. Various allegations have been swirling as to whether it came from Trump's campaign funds (illegal) or whether the lawyer just paid it out of his own pocket (borderline illegal / wildly unprofessional).
    - Stormy Daniels is now alleging that she has legal advice that Trump's lawyer has said so much to the media that he's violated his end of the non-disclosure agreement with her, and so now she is free to tell her story without financial repercussions.
    - The latest development is that she suggests she has a 'Monica Lewinsky' dress to test for Trump's DNA.
    - Trump's wife Melania is allegedly furious at all this and is now generally refusing to accompany Trump in public.

I'm wondering what the views of the 'family values' and 'we persecute Bill Clinton over the Monica Lewinsky affair' posters here are?

I'm guessing it's along the lines of "we have no real values or morals and are just pathetic partisan hacks, so we have no issue with the hypocrisy of critiquing Bill Clinton but defending our Great Trump. He can have affairs and sleep with pornstars, and illegally pay them off out of campaign funds all he likes, and we'll defend everything he does."

Gee, Trump sounds like John and Ted Kennedy or Bill Clinton... BTW - no one was after Clinton for his affairs, but for lying to a federal investigation/court.

Shouldn't we wait to see if he is guilty before hanging him?

It was nice of Dimbulb to include the word "allegedly" in his opening sentence because it signals to discerning readers that they shouldn't waste their time reading any further.

Which part of his lawyer having admitted to paying out hush-money says "not-guilty" to you?

Does your lawyer contact people you didn't sleep with and pay them hush money to not talk about the thing that didn't happen, and then tell the media that he paid the money out of his own pocket and that you Definitely Didn't pay him to do it?

You know how the liberal mind operates: an accusation is as good as a conviction.

Only if the one being accused is conservative.

Trump's lawyer's response to the allegations that the payment were illegally made out of Trump's campaign funds (thus violating federal laws for how campaign funds are to be used), was to claim that he made the payment himself out of his own money. We are supposed to believe that Trump had Totally No Idea that his lawyer was randomly paying off women Trump had had affairs with.

There is also a big difference if he had an affair back in 2006 and Bill Clinton having an affair while in office.

People can change. Trump says he became a Christian. Not sure if that's true but if so, that does make a difference.

So then there is no admission by anyone that it was "hush money" for some affair?

Come back when you have more than innuendo.
