Yeah, in a restricted area like a hallway full of people, as long as you can keep the barrel level you'll be hitting your targets -- which as you noted are within close quarters (few much more than the 10' I mentioned previously).

A revolver is virtually a semi-automatic. Pull the trigger multiple times to get multiple shots. The difference is revolvers generally have fewer rounds ready to go.

exactly. But they have fast loading systems for revolvers and they can always carry more than one.

Some revolvers, especially older ones, require the operator to pull the hammer back each time between shots.

NO matter what type of gun you are using, if your goal is to get as many shots off in as short time as possible, your aim is going to suffer. Even if you are using a full auto.

Well I am a Marine Corps qualified sharpshooter with a 1911 45 cal. You can aim the auto as you fire, because of the position needed for fanning you essentially have to fire from the hip. There is no comparison when it come to accuracy.

Practice is only part of it. During a firefight you need strong nerves to keep your hands from shaking during reloading or else it is difficult to align the bullets with the chambers in the cylinder slowing down the process substantially

Yeah, much easier to slap a magazine into a receiver, and give you 9 - 30 or more rounds immediately. Any break in returning fire makes you a target, not a combatant.

If someone is going for accuracy to kill people, he would take his time and aim his shots and could use a bolt action rifle to the same effect. The only advantage a sem-auto gives would be in shooting wild and fast in which case they aren't aiming anyway.

We're going to have to agree to disagree.... every time you reload, you're taking focus off your mission, and providing an opportunity to be taken down, even by an unarmed individual. The semi-auto gives you a considerably longer "focused on the targets" time than would a revolver, even with speedloaders. And just because you have 30 rounds in a semi-auto magazine doesn't mean you have to shoot "wild and fast" - it simply allows, as I said, for you to focus more on your targets, and less on your weapon.

Have you actually ever fired an AR-15? The fact is if you have a twenty/thirty round clip you can fire quite fast with good accuracy.
