I think you are underestimating the fact that the public is well aware of the dangers of arming teachers, and the extent to which authorities will go to screen and train those who elected to serve as protectors, should that ever happen.

If we're going to have guns in schools, more LEOs seems like the best option, imo. Even security guards are not necessarily the toughened combat veterans people presume them to be.

IF (and I've softened on this position) we were to have teachers and/or staff armed, it would - as I have been saying all along - be very selective and they would need to be thoroughly trained.
