Militaries would have a heck of a time retooling - and chain mail would make a comeback.

'Impulse' killings would be greatly reduced. Murder conviction rates would dramatically rise and the immediate murder rate would drop (killers have to retool, too). Killing and injuring in self defense would rise dramatically (because archery ain't that easy, bows aren't concealable and knives mean you get way too close to be immune from attack).

Gun enthusiasts would cry - a lot.

The world would not suddenly become perfect because people won't.

AntiGC's will be mad at those who supported GC and start building crossbows to 'show them' by becoming the very monsters they said they weren't. ProGC's will feel better about sending their kids to school - until some idiot takes a trebuchet to a playground because he doesn't like the new building blocking his view.

Life will go on. Humans will always find something to fuss over.

As an argument, this exercise is really stupid - antiGC's will assume, falsely, that 'no guns' should equal 'no violence' and complain that since violence will still occur, ending guns wasn't a good thing. ProGC's will complain, probably correctly, that you're characterizing their positions falsely. Accomplishment nil.
IIRC, there have been a couple studies that show that the further back in time we go (which means our weapons get increasingly more primitive along the way), the more likely it is that you would die as a result of violence.

    Just sayin.

If you asked me it would be short lived.
The world would be a better place if guns did not exist.

While that should go without saying, it needed saying.

Obviously, if we were perfect the world would be a better place, but the question was about guns, not human nature.

And there you have it --- were human nature better, guns would not be a problem. But liberals refuse to look at the cause of why these shooters are crazing out in the first place. Much easier - blame guns.

Yeah, I guess we liberals should consider the possibility of making human beings perfect, rather than addressing the problem of guns knowing that we are not perfect.

That's just dumb. Nobody suggested that - I specifically said "look at the cause", not "make humans perfect".

rather than addressing the problem of guns knowing that we are not perfect.
The guns don't jump up and run into schools and shoot people. Millions and millions of guns never shoot anybody.
