Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotional’s 2018 Experiencing Jesus, the Prelude to Life
    Six words for today!
    Shalom!

“I love You, Lord, my strength.” (Psalms 18:1)

Did you know that the word of God can be expensive? Oh, you thought God’s word was always freely given? Well I got news flash for you go to your nearest Christian Book Store and you’ll discover how expensive God’s word can be. However, if you look hard enough there are places where God’s word is freely given, as least free for use on your computer. I have three different software programs on my computer that are made free by people dedicated to see that God’s word like God’s love is freely given. But enough of that stuff.

When I first read the 6 words of Psalms 18 I was almost tempted to send out the shortest Glory Seed Devotional ever but as you see I didn’t. While I am unable to really add anything more to them, I feel the need for me to tell God, tell Jesus, and tell the Holy Spirit I love them just for themselves not for the blessings they’ve freely given me over the years.

Often, I am reminded of Job’s 3 friends sitting with him in silence and how that must have been a powerful experience for the 4 of them and then it was ruined when they opened their mouths. There have been times in my life when I’ve been so broken, so much in physical, emotional, and spiritual pain, so despondent I couldn’t even pray yet somehow my faith reminded me I was not alone, I knew the Trinity rested with me in my heart.

For me the power in the two words, “MY STRENGTH,” describe God’s greatest blessing for me and when I understand I am weak and unable to help myself I am giving God the love he desires from me. There may be times when we think of ourselves as a “weakling” (writing from experience) yet to stand in faith in the face of adversity and wait upon the LORD takes a person about as far from being a weakling as one can get. “I LOVE YOU, LORD, MY STRENGTH.” (Psalms 18:1)

However, God is more than just our strength! “The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, my God, my rock where I seek refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” (Psalm 18:2, CSB)

“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life…” (John 14:6)

    Grace and PEACE,
    Gary
