Fox News analyst Monica Crowley will join President-elect Donald Trump's administration as senior director of strategic communications for the National Security Council, Trump's transition team announced Thursday.
Crowley's appointment, first reported by The Daily Beast, means that she will no longer serve as a Fox News analyst and will likely stop hosting the weekend radio program she has hosted since 2002.

"I am deeply honored, humbled and grateful to be asked by the President-elect to join the extraordinary national security team he is assembling," Crowley said in a statement released by the transition. "With vision, courage and moral clarity, he is committed fully to re-establishing America's singular place in the world. He is also committed to selecting the best people for the jobs of keeping the American people safe and the country secure. It will be a great privilege to serve with them."

Fox News anchor Heather Nauert has been hired by the State Department to be its spokeswoman, according to a report Saturday.

Nauert accepted the job this week, Bloomberg News reported, citing two sources who asked not to be identified because the decision hadn't been formally announced.

Nauert has been a news anchor on "Fox & Friends" since 2002 and has been with the Fox News and local New York Fox affiliate Fox-5 for most of the past 20 years, save for a two-year stint at ABC News from 2005-2007.
