I believe though that the majority disagree with you.
On the world stage, U.S. students fall behind
When it comes to math, U.S. high school students are falling further behind their international counterparts, according to results released Tuesday of an ongoing study that compares academic achievement in 73 countries. And the news is not much better in reading and science literacy, where U.S. high schoolers have not gained any ground and continue to trail students in a slew of developed countries around the globe.
In the latest Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) measuring math literacy in 2015, U.S. students ranked 40th in the world. The U.S. average math score of 470 represents the second decline in the past two assessments — down from 482 in 2012 and 488 in 2009. The U.S. score in 2015 was 23 points lower than the average of all of the nations taking part in the survey.
Although 6 percent of U.S. students who took the test had scores in the highest proficiency range, 29 percent of U.S. students did not meet the test’s baseline proficiency for math.
In reading and science, U.S. students were basically treading water, their rankings relatively unchanged from previous years. The United States ranked 25th in science literacy and 24th in reading literacy. Singapore topped all nations in all three categories. China, Japan, Korea, Canada, Switzerland, Estonia, Australia and New Zealand were among the other top-performing countries. The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

I believe the FACTS are with me that the US is failing miserably in education.

Do you feel the same about history, math, Languages etc etc.?Atheism is the cult of death, the death of hope. The universe is doomed, you are doomed, the only thing that remains is to await your execution...

If memory serves 30-60 years ago the US was number one in education with little or no sex ed.

Again, the one fact has nothing to do with the other. Perhaps if republicans weren't out to destroy public education we would still be ahead of all these other countries whose public education systems have surpassed us.Atheism is the cult of death, the death of hope. For those who are crying "fake news"
1. It is not fake news that these parents are protesting Planned Parenthood's teaching of sex ed. Just click the link that seer provided.
2. It is not fake news that PP is teaching sex ed.
3. It is not fake news that PP is teaching about dating, relationships, sexual practices, LBGQT, etc. You can read it yourself on their web site:

I disputed that by showing that our public schools are doing a really bad job compared with other advanced nations.
If the schools can't even properly teach the basics, why should we trust them handling anything else.
Their primary job is to teach the Three R's - they need to work on getting that right before screwing up anything else. The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.
