I just find it a shame when a man is hauled through the mud for doing his job. I know it's just politics - but we SHOULD be better than that.

wise words. Now use this wisdom for the benefit of President Trump too. Thanks for demanding better behavior again.

According to Chris Christie, the raid was nothing extraordinary:

I don’t know what Trump is complaining about.

All presidents are dragged through the mud. If it’s not Obama by the conservative media, it’s Trump by the liberal media. And let’s not pretend Trump hasn’t provoked a lot of it through his infamous Twitter tirades and mismanagement of his cabinet.

If Mueller was a “dirty cop”, Trump would have fired him and presented the evidence. You don’t know what you’re talking about by using that term.

The fact is, Republicans trust Mueller to finish the job and have faith that Trump will come away smelling like roses. By firing Mueller, Trump would look guilty. Even Grassley said that it would be suicide:

Neither is any other legal investigation such as this. It's purpose is to gather evidence for further action by the Attorney General, Enforcement agencies, and the court system, which may bring charges for conviction of crimes beyond a reasonable doubt.

Trump already looks guilty, and the firing would create another crime.

Mr. Trump is not in the same class as Mr. Mueller, and my judgments about him are based on what HE has publicly said, and what HE has publicly done - not what others have said about him, what is rumored, or what I "suspect" without actual evidence. My judgments are not about his policies. Many of those I disagree with, but that's politics. A difference in policies will not usually have me finding a man "repugnant" (unless he starts advocating for internment camps). I may disagree with his tax policies, but that is a political disagreement. What makes him a repugnant human being is his personal behavior and his own words. I will not honor someone who regularly disrespects the highest executive office of this land with the honorific "President."

It is not libel to repeat what he has said, or take issue with his publicly visible behavior.

Yes. but none have been dragged through the mud by corrupt Senators and Representatives of both parties ... all in addition to the liberal media. It is criminal that our other elected representation have acted so much against the president. It is utterly unprecedented.

I have read the letter. Perhaps you could trouble yourself to point to the specific crime that Dirty Cop Mueller was tasked with investigating?
