    Bed Disassembly

I'm finally taking apart the frame of a metal daybed. Thus far, it has involved removing power tools from the bed. Removing bedding. Removing mattress and box spring. Today, it involves a crosscut saw to remove the bamboo and the inch and a half of silicon.

    I'm not kidding.

Tomorrow, I'll get the hammer and finish off the bamboo - because i can't cut all the way through any one point without it binding like crazy.

I think Rogue could have supplied you with some disassembly fluid.

I generally toss a grenade under the thing. Disassemblates real quick. And I don't need to wash the bedding.

I'm always still in trouble again

Grenades aren't very effective on things made of bamboo.

    A torch would be good.

That wouldn't do much more than shred the bedding some. Might poke a hole or three in the frame, but wouldn't disassemblate it.

The question is, why is she disassembling the bed, and why did she have to remove power tools first?

I was talking about me. And how I deal with my beds. Given that you shoulda figured that a grenade tossed under it will tend to send off the 10 to 20 lbs. of C-4 stored under it.

It came with the house. It's in the dining room which was being used as a bedroom/project/everything room. I removed three vices - not little ones - from the surrounding shelving. The owner who's now in a nursing home was using power tools in the room - evidently, home health found him sleeping with a drill at one point. I found a drill with bit and powered battery near the head of the bed - along with a host of other tools and project bits.

I'd gotten the mattress/box spring into storage but I'd used the bed for counter space when cleaning out the kitchen ('cleaning' being a relative term here) and then I got sick for 12 weeks so I just hadn't gotten the bed out yet. The actual back to this thing is under another bed in the actual bedroom. To solve the warping issue the bed had from not having the back on bamboo was applied liberally. So was silicon and a number of metal screws.

I never get normal DIY projects...

She needs more room for cats.
