North Korea’s nuclear test site has collapsed ... and that may be why Kim Jong-un suspended tests

North Korea’s mountain nuclear test site has collapsed, putting China and other nearby nations at unprecedented risk of radioactive exposure, two separate groups of Chinese scientists studying the issue have confirmed.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

Yeah that would explain why he suddenly decided to cooperate with Trump.

Oh dear, I think Kim-Jong Un is going to be in major trouble with China over this. They are not going to be happy.

And Kim has lost a very valuable bargaining chip.

The Chinese government does not have a record of caring very much what happens to their people.

Now. If this somehow adversely effect a top government official ... well, that's an entirely different kettle of fish.

I'm always still in trouble again

he is probably having a tantrum and running around yelling "Off with his head! Off with his head!" to anyone getting near him.

These recent reports only confirm old news.

From the pattern of previous blasts, in which North Korea migrated to increasingly deeper depths, the chances are good they miscalculated how deep they needed the tunnel last September. The significance is that it could force them to move to another mountain or dig deeper into the one they've been using.

They're not likely to run out of mountains any time soon.

There are also the reports of significant seismic tremors in the immediate vicinity (not ones that corresponded to testing).

You mean it wasn't because of Trump's subtle and nuanced and competent diplomacy?!

International politics is very complex, there are a lot of factors that play into these things, and to pretend that Trump doesn't deserve at least some credit for what's happening is head-up-your-backside stupid.

Well, no. Nth Korea is already now a nuclear power, which was Kim's goal, so he still has his bargaining chip. And there's nothing stopping him testing and refining his arsenal elsewhere in the country.
