I think this is a mistake. I was an Eagle Scout and got a lot out of the program. It was a good environment to bond with other boys without the distraction of girls.
Edit: I haven't seen anything to confirm this but one post I saw online claimed that there will be separate troops for boys and girls. I suppose that would change things but I'm not sure what the point of that is given the existence of Girl Scouting.
