So all the far left nut-jobs are now screaming that you can't call murderers and rapists animals because it is dehumanizing. These are the same nut-jobs who called half the country "deplorables" and call anyone who disagrees with them Nazi's. I very much doubt they can get on their high horse to make a complaint.

I should note that a few are still holding out. The last I heard the Washington Post is still standing by their original comments and story proclaiming its "accurate." And a couple of the panelists on the Sunday news/talking heads programs (such as CBS’s Face the Nation and CNN’s Reliable Sources) were still trying to rationalize the attacks using arguments similar to what Tass brought forth (occassionally while also admitting that Trump was specifically referring to MS-13!).

There was also a lot of hand wringing over "dehumanizing" savage killers.

I'm serious when I say that I won't be surprised if the Democrats become the party of bloodthirsty criminal street gangs in the near future as they rush forth to shield these poor innocent babies from that mean old Mr. Trump's hurtful words.

So what you're saying is that Tassman can't think for himself and needs to be fed by a spoon what to think by the mainstream media. And here I was thinking that atheists were supposed to be "free thinkers"

Not fair to point out that it has been quite common for folks, of every political bent, to call nasty folks, of all sorts, animals. Rats, weasels, pigs, worms, you name it has likely been used.

I think it's quite different. Same with KG's earlier example of Jesus calling people snakes.

The difference is in whether a poetic simile is being used to suggest a person has a particular trait that the animal happens to be known for (indulgence, danger, viciousness etc) or whether the language is being used to say "this person deserves punishments and treatments that we wouldn't usually feel are appropriate for humans, because they are subhuman". The former is just a visual use of language, the latter is really dangerous territory that goes into the realms of the holocaust and more recently, US government torture programs and US police mistreatment/killings of suspected criminals.

Trump's usage was firmly in the second category because he was talking about how the law needs to be applied in unusually strong ways against these bad people because they are 'animals'.

I've already called you out on this:
1. Nobody defended the gang beyond saying they were human not animals. That's not "defending" them by any metric I think counts.
2. Most on the left thought he wasn't talking about the gang, and were upset because they thought he was saying nasty things about immigrants in general as he has in the past. It's people on the right who are obsessed with the gang and can't stop talking about it and who think Trump was talking about it.

Only if we're tallying your falsehoods. She was talking about immigrants, not MS-13, as her tweet makes clear if you quote the rest of it. Are you seriously stupid enough to think Feinstein would say she had family and friends in MS-13?

This was part of their hideous effort to equate MS-13 with all other immigrants.

Funny, how they get outraged when Trump calls MS-13 "animals" saying he's talking about illegal immigrants in general but the reality is that by trying to turn MS-13 into just another group of folks wanting to come to America they have in effect smeared all immigrants as being like MS-13.
